Famous People with ASPD

i searched the forum for a thread like this and there doesn't appear to be any. so. i will start it. specifically they should have a history of conduct disorder, rumored or official by the age of 15 with some sort of conditioning trauma in early childhood leading them to a pattern response of conduct disorder. they should also meet 3 of the additional criteria from the DSM.

the DSM definition:

A) There is a pervasive pattern of disregard for and violation of the rights of others occurring since age 15 years, as indicated by three or more of the following::

failure to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors as indicated by repeatedly performing acts that are grounds for arrest;

deception, as indicated by repeatedly lying, use of aliases, or conning others for personal profit or pleasure;

impulsivity or failure to plan ahead;

irritability and aggressiveness, as indicated by repeated physical fights or assaults;
reckless disregard for safety of self or others;

consistent irresponsibility, as indicated by repeated failure to sustain consistent work behavior or honor financial obligations;

lack of remorse, as indicated by being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another;

B) The individual is at least age 18 years.
C) There is evidence of conduct disorder with onset before age 15 years.
D) The occurrence of antisocial behavior is not exclusively during the course of schizophrenia or a manic episode.

Kurt Kobain

Arguably one of the most aggressive singers from 90s pop music culture.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCGvONbVCa0

A history of conduct disorder and violence, following his parents divorce. Most likely irresponsible, irritable, arrested for vandalism, trespassing while intoxicated, potentially impulsive and a harm to himself with reckless drug abuse behavior and eventual suicide. So he meets 4 or 5 of the criteria. He has a history of conduct disorder in the school systems.

When Cobain was seven years old, his parents divorced.[13] Later in his life, he said the divorce had a profound effect on his life. His mother noted that his personality changed dramatically; Cobain became defiant and withdrawn.

Kurt behaved insolently toward adults. He began bullying another boy at school. These behaviors eventually caused his father and Westeby to take him to a therapist, who concluded that Kurt would benefit in a single family environment.

Cobain's teenage rebellion quickly became overwhelming for his father, who placed Kurt in the care of family and friends.

Cobain was detoxed unsuccessfully many times by questionable physicians in the now-infamous celebrity detox programs in posh hotels before relapsing and dying of a drug overdose and self-inflicted gunshot in 1994.[84]

Mention of his criminal activity.

Kurt Cobain was arrested by Aberdeen, Washington police in May 1986 and charged with trespassing while intoxicated. The misdemeanor bust was not the Nirvana founder's first brush with the law. The musician had been arrested in Aberdeen a year earlier on a vandalism count.

So probably not a huge threat to society in concrete terms, however one might suggest he spawned or influenced a generation with rebellion or anti social behavior.

Kurt's ability to express 'emotional despair' and to feel deeply, thru' his music suggests to me he didn't have aspd in the true sense.

I should probably start a separate thread for psychopathy which is sometimes co-morbid with ASPD and other personality disorders, but is a distinctly different criteria.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antisocial ... y_disorder

American psychiatrist Hervey Cleckley's work[citation needed] on psychopathy formed the basis of the diagnostic criteria for ASPD, and the DSM has stated that ASPD has also been referred to as psychopathy.[2][6] However, critics have argued that ASPD is not synonymous with psychopathy as the diagnostic criteria are not exactly the same, since criteria relating to personality traits were excluded from the diagnostic criteria for ASPD in the DSM, in part because it was believed that such traits were difficult to measure reliably and it was "easier to agree on the behaviors that typify a disorder than on the reasons why they occur".[2][3][4][5][6]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychopathy

Hare Psychopathy Checklist

Facet 1: Interpersonal
Glibness/superficial charm
Grandiose sense of self-worth
Pathological lying
Conning/manipulative

Facet 2: Affective
Lack of remorse or guilt
Emotionally shallow
Callous/lack of empathy
Failure to accept responsibility for own actions

Facet 3: Lifestyle
Need for stimulation/proneness to boredom
Parasitic lifestyle
Lack of realistic, long-term goals
Impulsivity
Irresponsibility

Facet 4: Antisocial
Poor behavioral controls
Early behavioral problems
Juvenile delinquency
Revocation of conditional release
Criminal versatility

You aware at all that conduct disorder has little relevance to AsPD?? You could have posted this thread in the BPD forum instead for what it matters. Even better, there's a Conduct Disorder subforum >> http://www.psychforums.com/conduct-disorder/
Having been victimised / made vulnerable by trauma does not make you AsPD, gibkid. You may be in the entirely wrong subforum.

Looks like someone has posted a thread on Comedians.

antisocial-personality/topic131666.html

Here is a really good example from it.

Richard Pryor

Image

History of sexual abuse in early childhood. A pervasive pattern of conduct disorder, expelled from school at the age 14, serving prison time in military jails. He has a long history of reckless harmful drug abuse. He does have a history of tax evasion or failure to meet financial obligations.

Pryor was one of four children raised in his grandmother's brothel, and was sexually abused at age 7.[27] He was expelled from school at the age of 14. Pryor served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960, but spent virtually the entire stint in an army prison.

In 1974, Pryor was arrested for income tax evasion and served 10 days in jail.

This is a good document of his personality which is definitively anti-social and self depreciating. Something that may be expected from a sexual abuse victim with a history of conduct disorder.

BPD is an entirely different Personality Disorder. There is no conduct disorder pre-requisite.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borderline ... y_disorder

F60.30 Impulsive type
At least three of the following must be present, one of which must be (2):

marked tendency to act unexpectedly and without consideration of the consequences;

marked tendency to engage in quarrelsome behavior and to have conflicts with others, especially when impulsive acts are thwarted or criticized;

liability to outbursts of anger or violence, with inability to control the resulting behavioral explosions;

difficulty in maintaining any course of action that offers no immediate reward;

unstable and capricious (impulsive, whimsical) mood.

F60.31 Borderline type
At least three of the symptoms mentioned in F60.30 Impulsive type must be present [see above],
with at least two of the following in addition:

disturbances in and uncertainty about self-image, aims, and internal preferences;

liability to become involved in intense and unstable relationships, often leading to emotional crisis;

excessive efforts to avoid abandonment;

recurrent threats or acts of self-harm;

chronic feelings of emptiness.

demonstrates impulsive behavior, e.g., speeding, substance abuse[41]

Both Richard Pryor and Kurt Cobain are definitively Anti Social in both personality and behavior. They both meet the pre-requisite of conduct disorder before the age of 15.

Yep, it was yourself only a few weeks back. :lol:

Was curious how long it takes for that diaper to slip. :lol:
Your newly adopted capitalisation habits are already on the blink, not to mention all those little grammar & syntax telltales you're most likely not aware of yourself but were glaringly obvious from post #1 on your new ID.
Who the hell you think you're kidding, gibkid? Other than yourself, that is.
