except with transpeople it's about having the exterior match the interior. so it's more about a sort of congruity.

crystal is seeking an exterior to fill an interior void. i am not so sure how that works for others, but i know it doesn't work for me.

I fail to see a difference in those two statements, aside from semantics.

Well, using that matching analogy; it's more about making my face match ym body.

Like I said, my body is a 10. And it is.

But my face is like...ughh..6-7.

I want my face to match my body as much as possible...in terms of attractiveness/perfection.

So in terms of 'matching' that's what I mean...

And with this 'matching' I will feel more whole internally (I hope).

does that make sense?

-- Tue Dec 17, 2013 9:18 am --

so it's a matching of the exterior to make feel complete interior.

rather than matching exterior with interior or whatever...

in the second case, the inside is incomplete and the outside is meant to mask that to give a sense of completeness, from what i understand of what crystal is saying.

I think this is too clinical a separation.

The inside cannot be complete in either case; if so much emphasis for happiness relies upon what some imperfect surgeon can do to whatever is there to start with and if someone feels that they were born the wrong sex and has lived like this for some time, then there's all sorts of brokenness going on inside.

I think Pink's analogy for what Crystal is trying to achieve being akin to a trans-gender transformation is appropriate.

Ok, I am in a slightly better state of mind right now so let me try and explain. (I was doing some unrelated stuff earlier and I don't know how much thought I put into the posts in this thread so let me clarify..)

Look, I define myself through my appearance.

Whether my appearance is my most valuable asset currently, or whether it will ever be, I don't care.

How I feel about my self, both my sense of wholeness and my sense of self-worth therefore directly correlates to the calibre of my appearance.

My body is good (10).

But my face is not (6-7).

These two things being out of match brings my self-worth down and also causes me doubts and I just feel incomplete and disharmonious on the inside.

By aligning my face and my body I will feel whole and physically realize my high sense of self-worth which I need to happen.

I need it to bolster my self-worth or it's going to crumble, ok? I need it bolster my sense of self or that's going remain unstable and dubious as well...

My body is my anchor. I achieve internal stability and wholeness through my body INCLUDING my face.

Hence once I get these surgeries I will feel complete. I hope that clarifies so no further irrelevant analogies where you guys put words in my mouth are needed.

Unless you can see the irony and gross error in that statement you'll never be satisfied.
