His generation, saturated with technology and social media from an early age, places an inordinate value on their social media, so much so that it becomes almost as real and in many ways more important than real life.
If hundreds of kids have hung themselves over social media snafus, is it too much of a stretch to postulate that one might commit a violent crime or assault out of a similar reaction or need?
When you put it that way it actually makes a lot more sense. Thanks, I wasn't making that connection. I'm not old by any means, and am probably a part of his generation but I've never been into social media at all so that would explain why it was so odd to me! I kinda shake my head every time I read about a suicide related to social media, how have people not yet realized it's more toxic/damaging than most illegal drugs. People are never more content/happy after using social media, it's always the opposite.. at least in those I interact with day-to-day.
Still, committing a crime and videotaping it just seems so counter intuitive to me. To then go one step further and send it to a self-admitted psych? That confuses me greatly. Maybe Eight's got some serious attractiveness / selfie game going on to motivate a young guy to do something so potentially self-destructive in a bid to impress her.

What is with your preoccupation with Schizoid PD? For the longest time it was autism, and now it seems to be schizoid.

The only Schizoids i've ever interacted with were incredibly insightful, almost scary insightful, but never actually shared or tapped into any of that insight, unless probed @ greatly or if they happened to fancy you and built trust over long periods of time. They're incredibly hard people to get close to, let alone benefit from in any way shape or form. I can't see a schizoid having any interest in ASPD, or grand-standing / pea-cocking like SS does. Are you sure he's a schizoid? Is that your professional opinion? :p
