I wonder what type of pay off do you get when you perspective take or satisfy your curiosity in that area.
Feeling; accomplishment; or..

I get to experience the perspective of another which I generally feel to be deeper and more authentic than I am capable of. There's an aesthetic aspect to it. I find it pretty to think about and imagine.
...

If you play piano, do you only intellectualize it?

Mostly. When I say I intellectualise it, that's not to say that I don't still find it beautiful. I think I was trying to make a distinction between how I play with music and how others might but it might have been a little heavy-handed a little early in the morning.

I don't want to further disrupt the thread, so I'll refrain from asking the following:
(another time I guess)

I would have been curious when you started the activity of "experiencing the perspective of another..."

And if for you, you don't qualify pleasurable sounds at the club as feeling because it's not a  "deep" enough experience.

Interesting, I would assume playing music would be both formulaic and intuitive/creative.

It seems to be in a powerful class of its own; leaving long after we've lost our memories, the vast majority of our cognitive capacities, motor skills, language skills etc.

I was learning something about music and neuroplasticity - and how it can take over parts of the brain.
