NAMI nami national alliance on mental illness promotes child drugging and the destruction of familys (see red highlight). The New York Times reported that nearly 75 percent of NAMI’s donations come from pharmaceutical companies — $23 million over 3 years’ time.

Check out there child drugging agenda "threatened".

This is what they call "Anti-Mental Health" Legislation.

http://www.nami.org/Content/ContentGrou ... sions_.htm

Sample Anti-Mental Health and Anti-Psychiatry State Legislation from Previous Sessions
Arizona SB1248
Requires public records to be available regarding the use of psychotropic medications for children. The bill threatens to violate the privacy of children and families and it is not clear how this information might be used and whether the information will be used for improper purposes (2007 Session - Failed).

Florida SB2286
Sets forth the contents of a consent statement that families must sign before their child is evaluated for an emotional, behavioral, mental disorder, a specific learning disability, or other health impairment. It is clear that the language included in the consent form is designed to discourage families from having their child evaluated for mental health related concerns and uses fear to discourage families from considering the use of medication to treat mental disorders (2006 Session - Failed). (See the Florida SB2286 Letter to the Senate in the State Advocacy Toolkit).

New Hampshire HB164
Threatens open communication between schools and families about mental health related concerns by requiring each school board or cooperative school board to adopt and implement a policy prohibiting school personnel from recommending the use of psychotropic medications for any child. School professionals should not recommend any medications for students, this bill singles out psychotropic medications and appears designed to discourage open communication about legitimate mental health related concerns (2007 Session - Failed). (See the New Hampshire HB164 Letter to the Senate in the State Advocacy Toolkit).

New York A3795
Threatens open communication between schools and families about mental health related concerns by requiring the commissioner of education to establish rules and regulations prohibiting school personnel from recommending psychotropic medication for children. School professionals should not recommend any medications for students, this bill singles out psychotropic medications and appears designed to discourage open communication about legitimate mental health related concerns (2007 Session – In Progress).

Utah HB202
Threatens open communication between schools and families by prohibiting school personnel from making recommendations for a student, including the use of psychotropic medications, and prohibits removal of a child from parental custody based on a parent’s refusal to consent to the administration of psychotropic medications. The bill singles out psychotropic medications as an issue that may not be discussed with families (2007 Session - Passed). (See the Utah HB202 Letter to the Governor and the HB202 Op-Ed in the State Advocacy Toolkit).

Utah HB299
Threatens open communication between schools and families about mental health related concerns by prohibiting school personnel from making certain medical recommendations for a minor, including the use pf psychotropic medications, and prohibits consideration of a petition for removal of a minor, and removal of a minor from parental custody based on a parent’s refusal to consent to the administration of psychotropic medications. School professionals should not recommend any medications for students, but this bill singles out psychotropic medications and appears designed to discourage open communication about legitimate mental health related concerns (Session 2006 - Failed). (See HB299 Op-Ed in the State Advocacy Toolkit).

NAMI : Drugging children and destroying familys.

When you become a member of NAMI, you become part of America's largest pharma front group organization dedicated to Drugging children and destroying familys.

How it all started: In the late 1970s and 1980s, prominent American Psychiatric Association (APA) psychiatrists, directors and researchers with the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) were in need of more government funding, and devised a plan to create a “growth of consumer and advocacy organizations with the intention of getting these groups to help lobby Congress for increased funding for psychiatric research. Several groups emerged first on the scene during that period: The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Anxiety Disorders Association of America (ADAA), National Depression & Manic Depressive Association (NDMDA, now called Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance, DBSA) and National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression (NARSAD).
In an incestuous relationship, many of these groups were formed by the directors or researchers from NIMH—the very organization that needed mental health advocacy groups to make demands on Congress for increased funding. All of them had board or advisory board members with financial ties to Pharma and the majority of them were heavily funded by Pharma. So this was a brilliant marketing/lobbying strategy – Set up patients rights groups to lobby for the funding needed for psychiatry and big Pharma while claiming to be “advocates” for the mentally ill.

I went to celebrate recovery a few times , one of the places NAMI pushes labels and drugs.

Has anyone here ever gone to a NAMI meeting and what did you think ?

I personally refuse to go. I even did a thing once for a training on recovery which I didn't realize for until after was somehow sponsored vaguely by NAMI and they offered me a very small compensation for it. I told them to donate it elsewhere. I didn't want my name attached to that.

Good, NAMI is just despicable !

Look below at the web archived 1996 NAMI website pushing Risperdal on children OFF LABEL .

“Risperidone for Adolescent Aggression”

http://web.archive.org/web/19961221104126/http://www.nami.org/

November 4, 2013

Johnson & Johnson and its subsidiaries will pay more than $2.2 billion – one of the largest health-care fraud settlements in history – to settle criminal and civil liabilities arising from marketing of Risperdal and its injectable version, Invega, for uses not approved by the FDA. J&J admitted to inappropriate promotion of Risperdal to treat elderly, non-schizophrenic patients for symptoms such as anxiety, agitation, depression, hostility and confusion.”The conduct at issue in this case jeopardized the health and safety of patients and damaged the public trust,” said Attorney General Eric Holder.

I still can't believe the audacity of this pharma funded front calling a law prohibiting removal of a child from parental custody [kidnapping] based on a parent’s refusal to consent to the administration of psychotropic medications "anti psychiatry".

We have some new people in this forum since this thread started, has anyone ever gone to a NAMI meeting and what was it like ?

Did you know NAMI was funded by Eli Lilly and friends ?

All these left leaning LIBERAL scum that allow children and other human beings to be experimented on in the name of science.... These pieces of crap are worse than the NAZI scum of World War 11 because they are treated as GOD'S by an uncaring inhuman beings we call society for the last one hundred and fifty years... When YOU get off YOUR asses and make these animals pay for there crimes against humanity then and only then will the system change for the better....

I never really liked NAMI because of its ableism, but I never knew that it lobbies against anti-psychiatry legislation.
