How easy it would be for a doctor with Munchausen syndrome by proxy to make a patient sick with psychiatric drugs and do the Munchausen sydrome thing ? Real easy.
Munchausen syndrome by proxy is a form of child abuse in which a "doctor" induces real or apparent symptoms of a disease in a child.
A doctor could perscibe a kid some Lisdexamfetamine, its used as part of a treatment program to control symptoms of ADHD. Its a horrible new form of dexadrine created to get a new patent and make money for big pharma. Vyvance.
Then when the child has known side effects like: agitation, aggression, mood swings, depression, hallucinations, abnormal thoughts/behavior...
Then he/she declares "It has to be Bipolar" !!! if only we could have known. And hands the parent a big fat Rx for Risperdal and they start feeding that to the child. Doctors orders.
Then when the child has known side effects like: Anxiety; constipation; cough; diarrhea; dizziness; drowsiness; dry mouth; fatigue; headache; increased appetite; increased saliva production; indigestion; light-headedness; nausea; restlessness; runny nose; stomach pain or upset; trouble sleeping; vomiting; weight gain.
Then he/she declairs... "we just have to find the right meds".
Munchausen by Proxy Syndrome (MBPS) is a deadly disorder of which awareness must be increased. It is characterized by a doctor, usually a child psychiatrist, who intentionally causes illness in the child. The disorder was named after Baron von Munchausen. There are different intensities and manifestations of this disorder. Symptoms of the syndrome are hard to identify but are most prevalent when the child only becomes labelled and drugged by the mental health system. The physician maintains a dynamic relationship with the parents , as the whole disorder is centered upon his/her need for attention from the parents.
It is most widely agreed that MBPS is caused by a need for attention and compassion to placate self-doubt in the sufferer. The only plausible treatment known for this disorder is extensive psychotherapy. If more research is conducted on this syndrome, it will help to protect the youth against abuse that is a by product of a psychologically sick doctor and perpetuated by the ongoing fraud in the mental health system.
