Boycott the Heritage Foundation

For those of you who are suspicious of psychiatry, here is definite proof that psychiatry needs to be stopped.

There is a man named E. Fuller Torrey who has recently released a book that advocates laws making it easier for psychiatrists to imprison people in wards. He also claims that it is acceptable to lie in order to keep patients locked up.

This is obviously appalling. He is being supported by the Heritage Foundation. I encourage people to boycott this organization.

That man, while right in some of his ideas (he was one of the first very vocal activists against blaming parents for their child's schizophrenia) is also frightening. I wouldn't want him anywhere near my treatment simply because he believes the recovery model is harmful. He also believes that having hope about recovery is toxic to someone with schizophrenia or bipolar.
