Its all good, the thread title "Not a Psych-Hater, just wondering..."http://www.psychforums.com/anti-psych/topic85438.html made me think some people might think this is a hate forum or something and get scared off mabey? and my comments were also a disclamer to that.

Right, Copy_cat. Someone should bring video cameras into psych wards to show what really goes on in there. I once heard a psychiatrist say to some mental patients, "The problem is that you don't agree with the majority."

I agree, stop.psychiatry. I was given the whole chemical imbalance #######4 too. When I asked if they tested for this using empirical evidence, the doctor gave me a "yes, yes". The tone in which she said "yes" suggested that no test had ever been done.

And you're right about psychiatric inferiority. I heard rumors that psychiatrists are failed doctors who couldn't make it into real medicine like heart surgery or pediatrics.

Thanks, NurseSchizoid. When I was in the hospital, black psychiatric nurses were poking fun at the Asian patients. They would make fun of our culture, our names, our physical appearance. They too didn't believe in psychiatry; they just came to work to get their paycheck. In a way, I pity them because they obviously hate their jobs, but regardless, they deserve to be punished. At least you're doing something against psychiatry. Thumbs up to you.

I dont see much point in psychiatrists anyway, just a waste of funds. If theyu spent the 100k a psychiatrist costs on providing a range of evidence based outpatient therapies im sure we would see better results

Correct. Psychiatrists are completely useless. They have as much business claiming people are mentally ill as a priest has claiming that someone is possessed by the devil. A lot of criminals go free because they plead that they are "mentally unstable." It's called the insanity defense.

I was in prison, and a number of inmates pretended to attempt suicide in order to gain pity from the judge. Fortunately, I doubt the judges listened to such #######4.
