I'm BPD, so please bear with the contradictions I'm about to propose:
God is almighty, yet he helps those who seek to better and help themselves - by going to therapy and taking the advice of TRUSTED doctors and medications. Some of us cannot live without them.
I'm Catholic, and there are many aspects of my religion I don't believe in - the Vatican is the richest body in the world, basically, yet they're begging money in every sermon from all of us that are struggling and unemployed? Why don't they dole out some of that cash to the needy and the poor instead of preying on the elderly and the guilty church-goers? Oh yeah, they're paying off the prients' bad behavior with little boys.
I pray to God and Mary the Mother, but without my medications, and the strength that praying to God GIVES me to attend my therapy and my pdoc appointments - I wouldn't survive. I can't just lie in bed, and say, God I need a job, one that pays $120k a year with benefits, but I'd like to work from bed, and POOF! It happens or something. That's ludicrous. I can pray for guidance and strength, but I can't pray for God to pay for my monthly prescriptions that enable me to FUNCTION LIKE A NORMAL ADULT.
A quote I heard once, "If your soul is thirsty, God will quench it, but if your throat is parched, for Pete's sake, grab a glass of water."
The OP is a quack. Psychiatry has been around before terrorism became a world-wide issue, and that's just pssssshhhh laughable. Snort.

Knowing other people is intelligence, knowing yourself is wisdom.
Mastering other people is strength, mastering yourself is power.
If you realize that what you have is enough, you will be rich, truly rich.
