I believe it's fully possible to have both God and psychotherapy and psychology.

For one, saying that God is the answer to all of your problems, doesn't mean you shouldn't take care of yourself. When you fall and break your leg. You go to a doctor. Mental health is the same thing. If you are not mentally healthy, whether it be caused by birth defects or trauma, then you see a psychiatrist, psychologist or therapist. I'm Christian, and I believe God is the answer to your problems... but he's not magical. You have to do your part too.

If you were drowning and a boat came by, wouldn't that be God's way of rescuing you by sending a boat? You wouldn't pass up that boat just because God may not have sent it. If you're suffering from any mental disorders, illness or trauma and you are pointed in the direction to a great psych, wouldn't that be a form of God helping you meet the right people to help you? In my experience with Christianity, God works through people. He's not magic. Your illnesses and disorders don't go away just because that's what you believe. If I broke a bone, no amount of praying is going to heal it up. I need to get to a doctor to fix it. It's the same with mental health.

God is the cause and the answer to all your problems..oh wait...that's beer.
