Antipsychotics Destroyed My Life

I failed college because of going-in-out of hospitals and Geodon made it impossible to function. Also, I have reoccuring erectile dysfunction, teeth grinding, and shaking. Its humiliating and embarrassing, cost me so much that I will never have again. i get to die alone half-sane and homeless. Yay. You can be anything you want to right? Sometimes i wanna take it all, wrap it up in a nice neat package, tie on a bow, and send a spring loaded gift to your doorstep, take your face off with muric acid the way you have destroyed mine. I hate you Psychology.

Antipsychotics kinda messed my life up too.

I don't know anything about Geodon.
Do you get to stop taking it?

I quit taking my antipsychotics and now I have to try to get my life back. It is hard (I know understatement of the year).

I'm sorry that your life took a turn for the worst when you started taking Anti-psychotics. I don't believe they are very good medications, despite the fact that I'm on Abilify.

Aren't you diagnosed as Schizophrenic? I thought I read in another post that you were. If so, its probably beneficial to be on an anti-psychotic, but perhaps you could tell your psychiatrist to switch you to a different one.

imo antipsychotics aren't ever "good" FOR THE PATIENT
i think they're used to make someone more easily controlled. op, if i had a way to help you that wouldn't hurt me i'd do it, but i'm selfish

how bout this? what do docs not want to give to manics/shizophrenics? stimulants, antidepressants?

get a doctor to prescribe you those maybe

Psychology are dangerous..because instead of take care of the patients, they just prescribe those horrble medicines..! Once you start taking them, you won't stop. Thereafter, it is very hard to ge back to your ordinary life. I have never use them, but my mum did. It was really hard for me and everyone in th family. But, we have supported her a lot and now she is ok. if you have support from family and friends I think you are a step ahead..! Think positive and do not give up!

I did a procedure outlined in clear body/clear mind- a high content vitamin (esp niacin w/flush)/nutrient + exercise and sweat sauna the Y- I really noticed some changes especially when redoing CBCM only partially in the last few months. It flushes out toxins left in your body even after decades. Having trouble finding links to people who take on iatrogenic (psych induced) PTSD cases. "Self Analysis" is light processing on oneself that may provide a great deal of relief for you.

Bad advice; you are pushing mind-altering drugs that really don't deal with the underlying problem at all. Psychiatry Psucks and needs to be gotten rid of.
People who respond badly to "treatment" need other alternatives than living in a brave new world reality. Come back when you find the personal integrity to deal with this, which I can assure you is lacking in most psychiatrists.

Antiphycotics gave me awful side effects. I can honestly say if it wasnt for medication i wouldnt be where i am today. Medication is only part of the equation. the other part is just hanging in there and obviously it is alot more indepth. These days i am on a antiphycotic which pretty much has no side effects.
From over ten years ago to now it has been along journey.
ten years ago i became mentally ill with phycosis and for along time i was trapped in my own world trying to regain mental health.
these days i have taken to the sky and overcome fear in many ways. i took up skydiving in 2008 and have done nearly 200 jumps.
There is a future and a hope to those who hang in there.

I was on four medications, including seroquel a year ago.

I stopped them all immediately as I had gained 80 pounds and was told I was pre-diabetic.

No more, I say. I lost 65+ pounds so far. I feel incredibly healthy. Even better than when I was a teenager.

Can we use Modafinil together with Antipsychotics, to decrease the effect of daytime sleepiness and sleeping lot?
