Sadly, most of the best topics have been locked... The most dynamic debates- locked... The most fruitful and psychologically revealing conversations- locked.

What seems to be only "allowed" here is pre-packaged dried-up useless robotic repetitive P.C. cookie-cutter conversation that is hermetically sanitized and either stamped "approved" by moderation, or stamped "unapproved".

It's unfortunate.

Hosting a regime under the guise of an open forum is disappointing. But I suppose in our day and age, to expect anything more would be the true mental illness.

Blue,
sorry to hear you say that. There are many reasons for locking a thread. Those reasons are not always explained
to the open board. Not approve or disapprove.
Feel free to start a thread on a topic of your choice.

I agree that some threads should stay open. But I know a few forums a hell of a lot worse when it comes to censorship. For example, I know of one site where if you say the word " dick" you get a warning. If you say any sort of swear word consistently you will get banned. If you call someone " stupid" you get a warning and are accused of flaming, with you post removed and if you continue you will be removed. And quote another post where someone says something that the mods deem offensive, that is also removed, even if what you say is useful information.

They don't allow opinions on that site just advice, and I suspect the admin may be a religious nut.

I know of another site, a rugby site (the silverfern). You say anything negative about the All Blacks and your post is removed, even if it's constructive criticism.
