This forum does more harm than good for its stated cause

II am a trained scientist, one who always referred to psychology as "science fiction" until I married a bi-polar woman.
She had been on thorizine starting at age 12, her parents were alcoholics, her older sister and her were sexually abused by their father then moved out of the house, she to Majorca Spain. There she had over 300 sexual encounters before the age of 14, mainly with american sailors trading alcohol for sex. I met her and it was only after marriage that I started tracking her mood swings and cycles. I diagnosed her illness after cataloging all her symptoms. She was a poster girl for a rapid cycler. I took her to a shrink. He prescribed Depicote. She prefered alcohol. It was a loosing battle. What baffled me was how a supposed MD could prescribe brain chemistry altering drugs without doing any kind of a baseline for comparison. His "how are you feeling today" questions were ludicrous, since she never stopped drinking and lied ever time he saw her. I know I was there. Her response was "I didn't want to disappoint him." Yeah, she had father issues, she was into BDSM and loved Bestiality.

My point is I started to believe in the science of it all, but then I stumbled onto this site. You CENSOR people?
People taut religion on a supposedly scientific forum? What total crap!

Talk about undermining you own cause! Invoking god is about the lamest thing in this day and age I can think of. Why not have the poor people on looking for help pray to a tree? It will do them about as much good. Filling their heads with superstiious nonsense is the ultimate in futile stupidity and you call think you practice science?

A trained scientist in what? Trolling forums? If you were a scientist, you'd be aware of the placebo effect. People who believe they are receiving healing are proven to get better. Faith does the same thing--so don't dare take that away from people whom it actually helps.

Scientists don't use phrases like "the lamest thing in this day and age I can think of". Certainly not in any kind of coherent or civilized statement.

And of course we censor people. If you were a scientist, you would understand that certain information is triggering to certain individuals.

First day; two warnings. You're certainly not off to a good start. I'm giving you one last chance. Is there anything you'd like to discuss? Or are you just here to tell us what a terrible forum we run?

I read what you said and I kinda find you sad. As a person of science are you not supposed to gather facts and be informed before making up your mind about a subject. Your post sounds more emotional than factual. A little story for you...
When being interviewed in a Psych hospital to determine if I should be admitted, the Lead Psychiatrist asked me a question. He said "Do you think that being mentally ill gives you the right to act out?" I answered "NO". He then told me that I was there for the right reasons.
These forums are here for supporting people at various stages of various illness. There is plenty of room for people to even vent int he appropriate places. There is also a history of knowledge behind who is posting and for what reasons. If a person is here to abuse others or become in-appropriate in a given forum, it can be very harmful for others.
You do not sound to me to be a person who is in a position to be helpful here. If you do not want to follow the rules in this forum, go away. Use your energy helping your wife rather than trying to discredit a place that has help many many people.
