Oh, ass-whoopings change people, all right. They turn naturally timid children into adults who are downright terrified of life. They make feisty children bitter and even drive them to criminal behavior later in life.

I get what you're saying. It drives me nuts to watch parents in public say weakly to their bratty sprogs: "Now, now, Jason. Please don't do that," while little Jason laughs in mommy's face and keeps on running wild. But nor do I believe in smacking the crap out of children, the way I was treated myself. Unfortunately I'm not sure where the happy medium is. How does one teach kids to respect their elders and generally act like they're part of a society, but without crushing their spirit...?

You should probably be careful who you tell because anyone who teaches a stupid, violent jerk such a sport just so they can pick fights to make themselves feel 'tough' should not be allowed to teach it anymore. And I don't know about kickboxing but imagine the same rules would apply as other fighting sports/martial arts. If you are a registered fighter isn't it illegal to use this in street fights? If not you still face MORE severe punishment if it gets around after you've assulted someone. You aren't very intelligent are you? While I understand that your low self-esteem makes you angry and lonely and you feel the need to lash out to get attention you really should think before you type
