It seems you are quite insightful........
All I know is that it felt wrong for me to be taking pills at many points in my life. I was over medicating for situational and minor symptoms and appearing sicker, and sicker in the process, in pro psychiatry's eyes.
Hooray for you-- yes-- we are our own best advocate. It's so refreshing to read about someone that is not depending on someone else with a prescription pad to fix everything. Good for you!
I think, at least in the US-- BiPolar is THE disorder of the 21st century-- backed by the drug markets. Are you sad, confused, happy or lost?-- then you are BiPolar --so here take this drug then our company can make lots and lots of money at your health's expense. When in actuality I would wager to guess that of all those diagnosed with BiPolar about 5 percent really truly have it and do need medication- the rest are just being used as lab rats and for supporting the drug companies.(IMO)
Has anyone heard about a study they are now considering as to the increase in violence(shootings and murder) done by males that have been or recently were on psych-meds? Some psychologists believe that there is a corralation between males being violent and how the drugs react in the brain.... seems the more psych-drugs are being used the less control some have on their anger. There are a group of psychologist in the US that are VERY against the over-use of psych-drugs and the over diagnosing of people.
here's a site that has one such psychologist--- hope this works....... it's a talk radio type show on the internet(there are many other shows in Dr. Simon's archives of his show.... some will not like hearing this info-- those that want a quick fix by drugs, those that want to take drugs, those that wish to believe they are helpless in their plight, wanting sympathy and also the ones that want the drug companies to succeed.)---
