Problems with Psychiatrists

Postby divine5wilderness » Wed Aug 19, 2009 10:59 pm

Anyone notice that psychiatrists make A LOT of mistakes and don't seem to pay attention? I've had SO many doctors not even know what prescriptions I was on after looking at charts, meaning they never wrote it down correctly in the first place. I had a place where there were two charts on me! I had a doctor take me off tegratol without telling me to go off slowly. I stopped taking it and had a serious episode - every nurse, therapist, case manager, etc. I talked to said you can't come off that medication fast. I have had so many doctors give me the wrong dose of medication. One doctor gave me prozac as a teenager and when my mom called to tell him I was suicidal (turns out I'm bipolar), he didn't even tell us to go to the hospital! Just blew it off. I just really can't stand how psychiatrists act like they're god, but they can't even keep their charts straight. This isn't a one time thing. It's very repeated. Maybe it's because I've only had one private psychiatrist (the one that didn't care I was suicidal). The rest have all been state run psychiatrists. It drives me crazy cause I have to repeat what I'm on and everything about me every time. I see them once a month. You'd think they'd have something written down about me by now. I had one doctor lecture me for 20 min about my low self-esteem when I never even talked to him about having a low self-esteem (which I really don't). He didn't say a word about my paranoia, which was the main problem at the time. Ok I'm done with my rant. :D But is this just my experience or do others come across doctors that just don't pay any attention?

Ehh, psychiatrists make sooo many mistakes, but I don't think it's at first due to their inattention, but to make something that would show us they're good.
They behave sometimes like they are Gods, but then you see you know more about yourself and what treatment do you need like they know with aaalllll their knowledge. Puh!
But sometimes it's their patients problem about what to talk about. Some people go there and talk about one issue at that time. Like they might have depression and talk about depression symptoms, then they would like to know if it's more than depression and tell them about other issues. On that way, a doctor can not give someone appropriate diagnosis.

Anyway, I don't like them really much, they are too "proud" to know and do some things! Puhhh!
I heard somewhere that those who go to study a psychiatry may have some untreated issues them self. I don't know how much it's true now, but it seems to be :)

Psychiatry sucks, and they suck too! :x
