I personally know two psycho-therapists with mental issues. One is a narcissist, who dated one of my friends and put her through emotional abuse throughout their relationship. Another was paranoid and bipolar. (she stalked one of her teachers whom she was convinced was madly in love with her).
Ironically, I think they can be pretty good therapists in some cases because they're great at pointing out faults in others and it's easy to get emotionally detached from them once they tick you off. Which can be a first step to self-empowerment. But then, it depends on what you condition you see them for.
"Oh, they don't miss me," she said. "I'm anti-social, they say. I don't mix. It's so strange. I'm very social indeed. It all depends on what you mean by social, doesn't it? - Fahrenheit 451
