Chucky wrote:killuminati, this being the anti-psych forum, one can understand your views, but everyone's opinion is based on theor own personal experiences. Butterly Faerie has had good doctors/psychiatrist, which is why she stands up for them. You might have had bad doctors/psychiatrists, hence your pessimism about them. Me?- i've had both good and bad but I don't question the 'art' of psychiatry. You are welcome to be pessimistic about doctors if you like, but I think it'd be better for you to stop focussing on this [pessimism] and instead try to get better in your own way. i mean, if you don't want to see a doctor - that's fine - don't. See how you can get by in your own way. it's no problem.
Take care,

Kevin if I had to take a guess at your profession, I would guess that you work in that industry. Or perhaps are a psychiatrist yourself. I support what the OP wrote. It was poetic and there is TRUTH in that statement. The whole idea of being human is that the person experiencing what they are experiences is legitimate. Legitimate to their experience. So they have the right to state it as such. When Butterfly says "YOU CANT SAY THAT" he is taking away the legitimacy of their truth according to them. If Butterfly came on and stated his case from HIS EXPERIENCE then that's fine. State your experience, where you stand, but you *should* not be telling people that they "CAN AND CANT SAY".
I have seen your course of posts defending psychiatrists. That's fine, stand your ground. But don't tell someone "YOU CANNOT SAY THAT".
Because It shows that you disagree to the point of telling people what they can and cannot say. Plain and simple, that's just wrong.
