Sorry you are dealing with them so harshly, what meds are you on? I know a lot of medications as a side effect is weight gain, but when you do go off the drug it does go away.

As for it killing you slowly, just breathing in the air does these days... ;) so whether it actually is or not is another thing..... but if you are struggling so much with your current medication perhaps you can talk to your doctor about an alternative, see if coming off meds is an option for you.

I hated zyprexia for the risk of diabetes and the 70lbs I gained (luckily lost it after I quit). how long does the court require you to take the meds?

AFAIK if they have records of any kind of assault they won't let you not take meds. This is a good thing for some in a way maybe I can't decide. Don't worry though there are alot of new movies coming out of real stories that show schizophrenics and their achievements. With this will come new research and alternatives. I've been hearing alot about gene therapy. Maybe ask your doctor about that alternative and show him interest in your improvement and maybe you will get a chance to go off medication but if you get sick again then it's not just bad for the medical system but for you.

I think alot sometimes about going off meds even with the chance of getting sick.

I remember I use to be alot more creative off my medication. I believe John Nash could not do as advanced math while on his medication albeit old medication.

IMO I believe that alot of doctors and people in the medical area see pascients recovery there amazings steps back after taking medication and see them changing socially. The only thing is they don't know how we feel inside with most meds draining the life out of you physical mentally and socially.

I just wasn't as verbal on meds, but everything was supressed ^
Yeah, I can see where it would be worth it if the person was usually violent off of meds. I don't know much about a minor assault, it doesn't give a real description of typical behavior.

I've personally never been on it so I can't make a comment about it.

Why do you feel you'd be getting diabetes from it ?
Is that a severe side effects etc?

i had taken it for a couple of years before it was discovered that it could cause diabetes, but it'd be interesting to here what info hunted has on it, or how it happens.
