A doctor is supposing to there. He is supposed to tell you what you need then let you go. He is not suppose to take away your freedom by telling you lies or prescribing wrong medications, but the truth is many doctors do this whether they know it or not.
Doctors get all the power of patients and unless you act for yourself you will get nothing. They only want to keep you as a patient taking away your one life, yourself.
There needs to be stricter rules for doctors and patient relation or else you will never get anywhere. Nobody can help and only nobody will do something. The doctor should be held responsible for not keeping in contact with their patients.
Sometimes the doctors will play games, saying one thing and doing another, only to make you suffer.
The bottom line is doctors are not reliable at least this point in time.
I totally agree with you!
My GP recommended I see a pdoc, so I searched and searched, it is so hard to find one that is taking new patients, and I finally found one. During our initial meeting, he listened to my concerns, switched my meds and told me to rebook in 2 weeks.
I came back in 2 weeks and told him I hated the meds and he told me that they shouldn't be making me feel like that, so he added something else, to counter act the adverse reaction. Our session lasted 20 minutes. Again he told me to come back in 2 weeks.
During our first meeting, I told him that I quit seeing my last pdoc because I wanted more than an Rx, I wanted real help. Nevertheless, I got an Rx and was sent on my way.
I can remember asking him what I could do to help calm down during a panic attack. He automatically assumed I wanted some meds and told me that he couldn't prescribe me anything for that due to drug interactions. When I told him that I was not actually looking for meds, but for breathing techniques, etc., he looked at me blankly and said, "Well, something like that takes weeks and weeks of therapy...". Ummm... that is what I thought I was there for. Never did he recommend a therapist, but when I asked for a therapist... he did give me a list of names, "in no particular order" of people that "might" be able to help.
I was late 5 mins late for an appointment and he refused to see me. I was also 5 min late for the appointment after that. Not only did he refuse to see me... but I could hear him yelling about me being late for this and the previous appt. He went on and on yelling at the receptionist about my tardiness, when he went back to his office (slamming the door) the receptionist asked me if I would like to make another appointment. I smiled at her and slid a check for $50.00 to cover my missed appointment fee (which I had filled out during his tantrum) and politely told her that I was able to hear everything he had said and I would never be coming back to his office!
You would think that someone in this sort of profession would first of all be able to control his outbursts and try to find out why his patient is always late. Sounds like someone besides the patients have issues in that office!
