The hypocrisy of psychiatric doctors

A doctor is supposing to there. He is supposed to tell you what you need then let you go. He is not suppose to take away your freedom by telling you lies or prescribing wrong medications, but the truth is many doctors do this whether they know it or not.

Doctors get all the power of patients and unless you act for yourself you will get nothing. They only want to keep you as a patient taking away your one life, yourself.

What if you ran away? That is exactly what a person should do unless suffering from a mental illness, but at the same time running away with medications is fine. Being discharged from your doctor is the goal but they stay away from that unless you hold the power. The problem is not everyone holds the power. Everyone should be let go though.

What else can a doctor expect from a patient who is positive, takes his meds and has a place to go to? They are just wasting time otherwise. You only get one life and only you can do what you want with it.

People will blindly follow orders from doctors even though the person is fine. There needs to be stricter rules for doctors and patient relation or else you will never get anywhere. Nobody can help and only nobody will do something. The doctor should be held responsible for not keeping in contact with their patients.

If the patient needs meds, give it to him but don’t hold it against him. People know what they need and when they need a doctor to listen he won’t be there because all they want to-do is talk.

Just a talk is all it takes for a discharge, a let go and a release from the doctor.

Sometimes the doctors will play games, saying one thing and doing another, only to make you suffer. This is malpractice and they should be held responsible for their actions. A mental patient should not be treated like a soccer ball.

Furthermore people will only get frustrated and back themselves into a room and a scenario where this person is mentally fit but just frustrated from the scenario of being locked up waiting for their doctor but being treated so unfairly of course he’s going to start yelling.

The bottom line is doctors are not reliable at least this point in time.

Hi,

I do understand your negativity towards doctors but, in your post above, you should add the word 'bad' to every instance of the word 'doctor'. What I mean is, not all doctors are like the ones you are describing. There are good doctors out there - ones who are willing to help you enough that they never have to see you again. other doctors just get into the profession for the glamour of it all - they are the bad ones.

Even with bad doctors, however, I doubt they intentionally prescribe the wrong medication. If they did that and were found out, they would no longer be able to act as a doctor and would be unemployed. However, you can make the case that some doctors are not good at diagnosing people and, in that sense, may then prescribe the wrong medication.

Well I would like to say my post can add the laziness of doctors to come in to their work. Maybe it's the procedures they have to go through. Yesterday I just got myself a week pass out of the hospiptal and on the 20th if things go well I am discharged back to my mams house. So no they are not all bad, but they do prescribe you medication against there best views. I was shaking in the entire interview only after we settled on the 20th did he allow me to mention my shaking. And he is reducing it but the rest now will have to be handled with health care team outside of the hospital and I will have to go for weekly checkups. Find a new job which shouldn't be too hard and learn to live with my mam.

PS. thanks for the response

Well it could be said all doctors know is what they have learned through books in colledge or uni. lets not forget that psychitry is big buissness for people who want to use the vulnerable to make lots of money, look at pharmaceutical companies, one of he first to capitalise on the needy and vulnerable, and are the first to dismiss any form of natural remedy or gained knowledge, solely because they want their products to sell. that is the main goal for them, to make money

Yes, isn't it very peculiar to think that it is actually in the health-care profession's best interests not to cure us completely? It applies especially to pharmaceutical companies, as you have mentioned. If, for example, they found a magical pill that cures everyone of their mental illness, would they release it to the public?; or would they keep it secret, shelf-it for much later, and milk us of more money first?

A pill like this could lead to who knows what kind of medical advancements including a cure for cancer. So them keeping it secret is not likely in my opinion.

I don't see how an advancement like this could lead to a cure for cancer - I mean, I'm just referring to psychological issues. If there really was a cure for cancer discovered, it wouldn't be by pharmaceutical companies anyway because most of the work in that area is being done at university laboratories. Needless to say, it would be fantastic for any one university's reputation to discover a cure for it (cancer); and they certainly wouldn't be holding back on annoucing it to the world! :)

The term 'cure for cancer' is in itself misleading though. Cancers affect different parts of the body, as you know. So, for example, a method for curing lung cancer would not also cure prostate cancer. At the moment, many people are actually able to 'beat' cancers by taking various drugs and also have chemo- and other forms of therapy. I don't think there will ever be just a single pill that you can take to cure any cancer. Cancers are too complex for that.

The only time mental doctors will help is when the patient wants to be helped.

Do you truly want to be helped or you just want audience for your life story?

Best,
x
