Hey I love that avatar, 'glad it's not color, and I think you mean "Flintstone".

One is supposed to be all sympathy for "emotional problems" and I am. But those problems all boil down to dread and uncertainty about one's future, and why shouldn't one dread, hmmm? After all, there is no future for us or any coming generation. The dream is up. What, act a fool on TV before millions -- and that's a future?? Not hardly.

In the end the shrink hears what he wants to hear, the patient says what's expected of him, some money is exchanged, some pills are swallowed, and nothing whatsoever changes. Cold as the clay.

Yes, the rest of this topic is a waste of time. The title was all I wanted to talk about. Send me through your manifesto on posting and I'll try to conform.
(Also I want to bring up some issues with your spelling, I know that I am lousy at spelling, but at least I admit it, you on the other hand, in the past you have pointed out my errors and not your own…practice what you preach!!)
I am a lousy typist. I never claimed the title of lord of spelling. In fact, my criticism of your dismal, dismal spelling was in context to counter your assertion of your exceptional intelligence and manner. Furthermore, my criticism lay not generally in spelling, but specifically in your penchant for 'txtspk'.

You should be a little more prudent in your launching into self-gratifying diatribes, lest you miss the mark of relevance and look rather silly.

digital, stop mirroring my criticisms of you back on me. It doesn't make you clever to do so eventhough you believe it does. Also, every post you make is a post in opposition to someone or something and worded in a way to give the immpression of intellegence. Try hummility, it works wonders. Why must everything be a debate with you? All I am going to say is try conversing with people. Not everything has to be an arguement. These are good sound words, hopefully you will take my advice. If not, I still wish you the best of luck -megan

I have friends, if I feel like conversing, I see them (Not to a forum full of self-absorbed strangers). I come online to sharpen my mind, by learning, listening and debating. My dream is to be utterly spanked in an argument; this is one of the rarest and most productive opportunities to learn.

As for humilty, it is an active pursuit of mine. It is a priority I try to incorporate into everything I do. Wouldn't you consider it a bit rich for a self-professed narcissist to be offering advice on humility?

It is also recreational. I enjoy debate. If you don't, please don't feel obliged to join in. However, engaging in debate is healthy. A dislike of debate is indicative of either a fear of losing, self doubt in ones abilities, or the conceited beleif your own position is unassailable. Afraid, insecure, or arrogant; which are you?

Yeah.. There was about 65 million years between the last dinosaur and the first human.

SIZING PEOPLE UP
... that is what the shrink's function is. That is what's the 2nd oldest occupation. It's way deluded, as there can never be any validity whatsoever to one mortal sitting in judgment of another's eternal soul.

Your therapist is a fraud, a charlatan. And my point earlier is that he has no soul of his own to juxtapose against that of the patient. I have rightly alleged that the venerated 'analyst' is nothing more than a lackey of the current powers-that-be -- a stuffed shirt. He helped Hitler belay dissidents and he will likewise certainly assist every single dictator-to-come to thwart detractors.

Of course, if folks want to consult with such a charlatan voluntarily, they can go right ahead and knock themselves out. But I'm too savvy to fall for that trap! I've got the government check and that's all I want out of the deal. Substance-wise, psych is a washout.

According do those who practice it, spying is supposedly the world's 2nd oldest occupation, and not psychology. They claim that the 1st occupation was being a soldier, and even though this is probably not the case, I fought I'd mention what came to mind when I read the title of the topic.
The only reason the government pays for my college education is so I will pay them more money in taxes throughout my lifetime. Now, if they are expecting me to like them for it, tough $#%^.
