It is all malnutrition/imbalances

Postby ertarox » Mon Oct 01, 2007 5:22 pm

I was dxed with add, depression, bipolar, and anxiety. I was on tons of meds.

through experimentation, I see how it is all controlled by diet. There is no doubt in my mind it is related to toxins and malnutrition, these "diseases" people have - even schizophrenia.

Magnesium-deficiency alone (#1 deficiency in america) is related to depression, suicidal tendencies, manic depression, and a whole host of physical diseases.

Heavy metal imbalances are common and cause psychosis and much worse.

It is all diet, some environmental toxins, maybe, but meds don't fix it, just numb it.

While it is true that extreme nutrient deficiencies cause mental and physical problems, you must also keep in mind that those are not exclusive causes. Most people who eat at least half healthy probably wouldn't run into problems caused by imbalances.

What I'm saying is that I know you heard that from a doctor or a website with "herbal remedies" and "natural cures". I'm not saying they are wrong but they aren't more right than traditional medicine. Someone who only takes vitamins or whatever for his cancer is most likely going to DIE.

However, if you do combine both, I know that you have the best chance of feeling better faster or being cured, no matter what the illness is.

I also wonder how the body's own ability to metabolize and use specific vitamins and elements works into the possibility of a chemical imbalance causing mental issues.

Taking vitamins and eating properly will not help if the body isn't able to properly use what is taken in.

So many variables to consider and the research has much to discover.

I do think that nutrition has a lot to do with it. Many believe that we wouldn't be experiencing some of the things we do if we just ate healthier. Makes sense, because then your body doesn't have to try and compensate for what it doesn't have. Though, Asperger for example, which is a hardwiring, can't really be changed. It's the way it is for that person. Though, I wouldn't be surprised if good nutrition made it easier for the brain to develop even after "hardwiring." I think the fact that our bodies can function without fully proper nutrition is in itself a miracle.

With all of the chemicals in food products in countries like the USA that are being found to be carcinogens, and other chemicals in food products that are found to imitate/augment brain chemicals, I wouldn't be surprised if it is in the food/water.

Too bad it takes a lifetime to figure all of this stuff out. I have several problems that are directly related to nutrition, and nobody would guess, not even family members.
Actually part of the problem is that some people have some kind of genetic weakness to certain chemicals, and other people don't! It confuses the daylights out of those poor scientists. That's the whole reason behind many of the funding efforts behind the human genome projects and successive studies like the epigenome projects.

Regarding Aspergers, I read that a possible cause for some cases could be malnutrition/imbalances, especially deficiency of magnesium, B6 and/or B12 which the stomach can't digest properly and also because of too much food with "unhealthy" glutein. That's why some are trying a special diet.
