clash of realities

Does the form signed before being admitted to a mental hospital in the US allow the staff to do more or less anything they want to, free from accountability for outcome or damage done?


I ask because I had some rather strange experiences last hospital stay - a clash of realities if you will, i'm nto sure to what extent my experiences reflected pure psychosis or instead dangerous realities objectively jeopardizing my safety. it seemed like i was straddling the line between psychosis and reality. i.e. there seemed to be a very real danger that my psychosis could lead to my being put in prison for wrongful reason by a corrupt institution, especially if i lost control of myself. or is this more a reflection of "post-paranoia"? for example, can hospitals use technology to monitor you via the food you eat and the drinks you consume. or was this all just a waking dream, albeit a clash of realities... Am i making any sense?

I want to say a waking dream. I mean they can monitor you through observation and cameras (if they exist in the facility), but besides that no way.

How likely is it, if i may ask, that staff members might pose as patients to confuse/disorient someone and keep them in line? Why is it that all these paranoid sounding things that i'm saying felt so real at the time. i wasn't just psychotic, i was conscious that i was on thin ice and working very hard to avoid "losing it"

Nothing in laws of physics can stop a staff member from impersonating a patient. At the same time, its possible for someone in crisis to suspect or think things that aren't actually there. Its impossible for me to say for sure as I wasn't there.
