I don't know about psychiatric nurses.
But mental health liasons, yes. The liasons are probably the best thing that has every happened to the county where I live. They are few and far between though, funding is impossible so their budget is tiny. They ride along with the sheriff during mental health crisis calls. The times I've been picked up, it was with a Liason, and if he wouldn't have been there I wouldn't have been cooperative, and probably would have gotten shot. I don't like that they still end up shoving you in a hospital, so it's not like the Liasons are progressive or anything . . . but it does cut down on the crime.
Liasons are some kind of trained professional (if we could get peers--ppl with mental health lived experience into these positions, it would be game changing) and usually have a Masters or some #######4.
I have no idea about that NY mental health police thing, I saw that too. 99% sure it's photoshopped. If not, well, I have no idea what any of it means.
I like living in the world in my head because I'm in charge half the time.
