For what it's worth.... I went to this first link you posted and read the article. Then I saw this unexpected comment at the end of the article:
"What's more is that it's not just that serotonin isn't working for depression but that it also does serious harm, which isn't talked about either by corporate medicine and the brain dead popular culture. Yet the mantra is that is leads to happiness...
A sizable volume of sound research studies demonstrated that increasing serotonin and tryptophan either with drugs or supplements (not food because food's unlikely to significantly raise serotonin) is linked to brain dysfunction, stress hormone release, cognitive deficits, inflammation, impaired blood circulation in the brain, hypertension, cancer, and other less than "happy" effects - google "Tryptophan Side Effects: L-Tryptophan Is Far From Harmless"
It's one lie stacked on top of another lie and another one..."I googled it. It's a long scholarly article with lots of references. It contains a lot of interesting information that strongly confirms "the serotonin scam," and much more.

I think this is very similar to the "vitamin C myth"; the one that claims it cures colds, whereas any improvement in the symptoms are most likely just placebo. Or how many people think fat converts directly into muscles after a workout, when really it's just used as a stable source of energy, that's it.
"a lie told often enough becomes the truth"I think you'd be better off trying these "happy pills" lol

Or "carbs are bad"
Calorie - the energy needed to raise the temperature of 1 kilogram of water through 1 °C, equal to one thousand small calories and often used to measure the energy value of foods.
To many calories from eating bacon or pasta it makes no difference your getting fat, period.

The gluten-free fad. It's necessary for the very small portion of the population who have gluten intolerance; for the remainder, it has no proven health benefit whatsoever. It's sad to see so many people buy into the hype of unfounded, predatory marketing gimmicks.
