I was looking at my medical records. I've been taking Paxil for 15 years with no benefit! I started the tapering process 6 weeks ago. I've been off completely for 12 days. I tried to quit once before but the withdrawal was so bad and I couldn't get time off work to go through it. Therefore, I kept taking this worthless drug simply to avoid the withdrawal. I'm finally off but still having withdrawal. Mostly I'm having GI problems but I'm also having crying spells. They aren't caused by any sadness. If something is funny I laugh and then start crying. Honestly it feels great, LOL. I haven't felt normal human emotions on so long. When on Paxil I wouldn't laugh or cry. The only emotion I felt was anger. I'm now working on quitting Remeron. I can't sleep worth a damn on this stuff. It knocks me out quick at bed time but I wake up two hours later and can't get back to sleep.

The people that make this stuff should provide information on how to quit but they don't.

Sounds like you're going through a somewhat hypo-manic phase after qutting the meds. I went through the same thing. You will definitely experience radical ups and downs after coming off the medication. But I have found that after a good 6 months you will actually feel MORE stable than you did on the neuroleptics. Some advice:
*You will most likely experience radical depressive episodes after being off the medication, this is your body moving to a low energy state in order to focus it's energy on healing the brain
*You will also experience radical highs as your body is operating at a higher level after no longer being poisoned
*Give your body time to heal...If your body is telling you to rest, rest indeed...infact rest is the most important element in your recovery
*Stay away from people who will try to get you back into psychiatry, these people are considered dangerous and are not your friends
You will be okay. I wish you the best.
