Do psychotropics play a roll in violence?

Postby Riccola » Fri Oct 09, 2015 7:37 pm

Considering the number of stories Ive heard first hand from people having adverse reactions to some psychiatric meds, mostly SSRIs, I cant help but think a link may exist. Seeing the number of tragedies where the perpetrator has been taking meds makes me wonder more then ever.

I find that antipsychotics make me very frustrated and I tend to snap at people. It also can induce feelings of hopelessness where I care less about what I do. If there is a link, it wouldn't surprise me.

Id say its typical for some people. Some do better, some don't, others get worse. I think those warning labels on anti-depressants are no accident.

Yeah they definitely do in some people. I was on Paxil 2 times for about a month each and it changed me I can't really feel many emotions anymore but the rage it gave me I get so angry and have homicidal thoughts from it. I think it has to do with serotonin staying in the synapse too long or it could be akathisia caused by ssri and antipsychotics.
