The Campaign for REAL Change in Mental Health Policy

"REAL Change in Mental Health Policy" ? Its a bunch of gun control advocates from the liberal camp. Read their home page here http://realmhchange.org/

Looks like they are trying to fight the Murphy bill by attacking the second amendment.

The liberal democrats are the ones who created the epidemic of child drugging with their big government programs like "IDEA" , support of public schools and teachers unions, "Common Core State Standards Initiative" all that kind of stuff that gives money and power to the psychiatric child drugging machine.

Who supports mental health screening in schools ? The Liberal Democrats.

Look at this for more https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASa7iQQpOMI

This is not a Campaign for "REAL Change in Mental Health Policy" it's a campaign against the right to bear arms and for lots of other bad ideas from the liberal democrats. They have some good ideas but as many bad ones to go with them.

The idiots behind this website are creating more support for the Murphy Bill with their attacks on the second amendment.

I usually don't fall for that Republican Vs Democrat thing but that website pissed me off. Don't label opponents of the Murphy bill as opponents of the second amendment as well.

Hey "realmhchange.org" , keep YOUR dividing politics out of OUR human rights in psychiatry movement.

Go away.
I survived psychiatry.

Why are they opposing Murphy's law by advocating for gun control. Those two things have nothing to do with each other. That's pretty stupid.

Though why is the IDEA problematic? Without it, disabled children wouldn't be given accommodations. There is still a lot that has to be done to give disabled children equal opportunities (like being given more services that don't try to make children seem non-disabled), but without the act, that would never happen.

Accommodations = psychotropic drugs

"Services" always = psychotropic drugs

Remember this thread: NAMI back to school "how to get your child on drugs" anti-psych/topic167537.html

"While knowing your rights can help ensure that your child is treated fairly by his or her school, occasionally additional resources are needed to help your child succeed. IDEA includes more than 13 categories of disability, including mental health conditions, which determine whether your child can receive special education services. However, just because a child has learning and attention issues doesn’t mean that he or she is eligible for services. In order to receive education services, the student must be evaluated."

Evaluated = Psychiatric labels and the drugs that basically always go with them.

A psych labelled kid very rarely goes undrugged.

Why your kid is drugged in school,

How it works:

The State Department of Education gets monies from the Federal Government (Disability) under a program called "IDEA" for each child diagnosed with a disability. A disability could be ADD/ADHD, Bi-polar disorder, Depression or any of the other mental diagnoses.

Who profits: The State Department of Education, the mental health and counseling Industry, the Pharmaceutical company and the money that is kicked back by lobbyists for politicians special interest and of course the legal profession.

All this at the cost of your child's Health and welfare.

Its always been the liberal agenda to attack the second amendment and to psychiatrize children, undermine parental rights ect ect.

The liberal democrats want a great big "nanny state" complete with drugged kids in schools that resemble behavioral heath clinics more than actual schools and of course the conservative republicans love their mass incarceration and police state.

That Democrat Vs Republican thing is a great big scam. We all loose.

This article I came across slams that scam real hard : The Game Is Rigged: Why Americans Keep Losing to the Police State https://www.rutherford.org/publications_resources/john_whiteheads_commentary/the_game_is_rigged_why_americans_keep_losing_to_the_police_state

This "Campaign for REAL Change..." is just the same old divide and conquer bull crap.

Watch how we get BOTH a Murphy bill AND a weaker second amendment. Divide and conquer, that's how those snakes play us every time.

Not always, but most of the time. People need to realize that people who lobby for expensive "services" are probably not people who know what is best for their child.

That said, for autistic children, getting prescribed psychotropic drugs is less common, but still happens. What is even more common, though, is behavioral therapy, which still harms them (by the way, behavioral therapists are also people who lobby for expensive services).

But there are accommodations that actually help children, like OT. But unfortunately, they are less common due to the lobbying of psychiatrists and behavioral therapists. But those things don't have to be falsely labelled accommodations if we speak out against them. Real accommodations make sure the needs of the child is addressed, not make them assimilate them into society's arbitrary standards of "normal".
