MadInAmerica Cencoring me over Post-Katrina Stress Disorder

Postby Copy_Cat » Tue Sep 01, 2015 6:15 pm

Here is the STUPID STUPID article they posted. http://www.madinamerica.com/2015/08/pos ... al-health/

My comment on it:

To adapt to a changing climate, survivors of these catastrophes – especially those in marginalized, low-income communities – need to move to higher ground.

Thats right, New Orleans is below sea level and its also in the path of hurricanes.

What you can do is use modern transportation to move someplace that is safer, that’s right you really can.

We have cars and buses and trains and airplanes in 2015.

Amazing right ? So if you have Post-Katrina Stress Disorder what you need to do is move. Pretty simple I think.

Shapiro v. Thompson, 394 U.S. 618 (1969), was a Supreme Court decision that helped to establish a fundamental “right to travel” in U.S. law. This case examined laws that required a period of residence in a jurisdiction before welfare benefits would become available to a new resident. The state asserted that its interest in requiring this waiting period was to deter needy citizens from other states from coming to the state for the sole purpose of receiving superior welfare benefits. The Court held that the purpose of inhibiting the migration of needy people was a constitutionally impermissible objective.

So shut up and move out of the path of the NEXT hurricane.

I just tried to post this and I found I was censored !

Someone keeps pressing the report abuse button when I suggest that moving out of a city that is below sea level and in the path of hurricanes is a good idea.

I see the same kind of people on TV that loose there home when a river floods and instead of building the next one up on a hill they rebuild it in the same place.

Maybe those comments are not nice or "politically correct" but I have been watching MIA turn from a site about the abuse of the mental ill to a left leaning "NAMI light"

Its just a shame that's what it is. I guess I am done there.

Dozens of websites have tried to ban me for speaking out about psychiatry and abuse of people accused of mental illness.

What have I learned ?

Dozens of ways to get around it, LOL . You can't ban me.

If Madinamerica or now maybe what we should just call "NAMI light" doesn't want me then what ever. I am gone.

NAMI light. LOL

The problem with my posting is resolved.

I really don't want that site turning into NAMI light.

I just see more debating of abstract nonsense and less hard hitting stuff attacking the human rights violations by psychiatry.

Gabriel was taking Vyvanse, an amphetamine ADHD drug, and Symbyax, a combination of the antipsychotic Zyprexa and the antidepressant Prozac, when he killed himself. Symbyax carries a "black box" warning that it might lead to suicidal behavior among children and adolescents, especially when first prescribed.

Sorry this happened to you Copy_Cat. Censorship is an ugly thing, it represses truth and lets those who do it engineer public opinion the way they see fit. Its dangerous, a concept set up to fail everyone. I am a big believer of free speech and educating people on all aspects of a subject.

This is why I post and mod here, its very lax. As long as posts are within forum rules people can speak their minds. The rules themselves are reasonable to imo unlike other forums that stifle any meaningful conversation. This combination here has created some on the most insightful threads Ive seen.

Ya censorship stings and I totally bugged out.

Way to much computer lately.

Building cities below sea level is still a real dumb Idea. I went on Google Earth and checked out New Orleans. I dropped the little dude in dozens of places on all sides of the city for street view and they all looked lame.

I think people just have "living in lame city disorder". Block after endless block of the same lame thing in every direction.
