Dr/psychologist trying to make me humble?

My friend says he thinks a dr told me that I had a genetic disease to try to humble me because pretty girls are full of themselves and says he does not see that I have a disease. I told him that he is ignorant and Dr's do not have the leisure of thinking about such ridiculous things anyway but he was very insistent on this and was laughing about it however I do think that a psychiatrist/psychologist might do this. I wonder if this idea he gets is from shrinks being harshly critical of me to try to make me humble. Would a shrink do this?
