Trouble is, that is an unacceptable reason for seeing her according to her. She wants to know why I am there to see her but won't accept any version of the above. Got any suggestions?
In the meantime, we've had two sessions. First was mostly paperwork, second was discussing my current situation which includes a very real possibility of being homeless in a couple of weeks. I shared with her an option that was presented to me that is illegal and, at least by my standards, immoral. Her response was absolutely priceless. I was "retarded" to think that way, "crazy" and to compare that illegal method with burglarizing a store was "insane".
To think, I've been to one real session with this woman and I am already retarded, crazy and insane. It is absolutely amazing to me that people like this get doctoral degrees. Anyway, the method in question was through fraud - and I'm not going to do it, but it really doesn't matter what it was - I could have been comparing fraud with going swimming; you just don't call patients derogatory names.
Anyway, before anyone suggests it, she's the only show in this small rural town and insurance won't cover me to go out of county if there is someone who can provide services within the county. Oh, and I must repeat after her, "I have a way to prevent myself from becoming homeless but I am too stubborn to employ it." Just so anyone reading this knows: I have a good number of serious mental health issues according to the DSM-V, but I am a confident, happy person with a healthy self esteem. She can't say or do anything to chance that so my safety with her is not in jeopardy. But darn, she's dangerous. I almost feel like it's my duty to keep going to her so she can't hurt the person filling my fifty minute slot when I leave...almost.
