You could always ask your psychiatrist for talk therapy over meds. Hoping he or she will agree.

Best you can do is try another, shop around so to speak. There are some that also do CBT and other alternatives to meds.

There are no others.

Or at least ones without 10 year waiting lists.

I can see why you might have anti-psych views. This is one of the reasons for my internet activism. Everyone deserves free and appropriate mental health services IMO.

Thank you.

But it's not happening in this country.

There are now 2 week long GP waiting lists.

I dread to think what's going to happen to therapy. I think it's been caused by the self-help epidemic where "if you've got a mental health disorder, sort it out yourself."

And I hate that we call these people gurus as well. It's insulting to Sikhism and the Guru Granth Sahib in my opinion.
