They should stop saying that we are mentally disordered

They are saying you are not to blame for your problems, but the term "mental disorder" does imply that the problem lies with the person instead of the environment. Mental disorders objectively don't exist. They only exist in the context of our culture. However, we don't choose how we behave.
Our culture guarantees that there will be people that behave like us. Our culture generates our problems (They know this!). It makes us behave in a certain way while it expects from us to behave in a different way. That is where the "disorder" thing comes from.
Our culture is totally dysfunctional and it will eliminate itself. There is no other way. Our culture does not generate a civil society, because the focus lies on money and not on the individual.

Our money-structured hierarchy is not a society. We are plundering the Earth for resources and we are damaging our environment. We are not Homo Sapiens. We are Homo Bacteria. It is going to end badly. In order to fix this, our culture has to change. If our culture changes, then psychology / psychiatry as a field will become obsolete. The books (DSM, ICD, etc) will also become obsolete. If we do it right, then the field will not come back in any way or form.

Sorry, I felt the urge to write it down somewhere.

A mental disorder could be defined as a chemical reaction, similar to a heart beat, or the lack of a chemical/chemical reaction in the brain. It really isn't the fault of anyone, but I can see where you are coming from.

Labelling a person should not be taken lightly. And even then I always tell people to never to let a diagnosis define them.

But to be honest I agree with you, mental illness is relative. Its entirely based upon relative behaviors as seen by an observer. There is no medical test to prove schizophrenia or any other illness. Traumatic brain injury can be proven via EMRI, but ADHD, Bipolar ect can not be proven in any way shape of form.

This concept is what makes it relative in that nothing can be demonstrated via evidence or recreated in a lab.

Hi Com-Plex.

I agree. The place creeps with people who don't think straight.
If mental disorder were a legitimate criterion, everybody would qualify.

Suggesting that someone has a mental disorder is 100% negative.
Absolutely no useful purpose served, only presenting a problem that nobody can remedy.

As an observer of mankind, I think that moral illness is more accurate,
as the primary cause of irrationality.
People choose the easy irrational option, instead of defying an ideological bully.

Moral illness is hard to think about, because almost nobody understands morality.
Western society has substituted obedience for morality, with its carpet of regulations,
but obedience gives no scope for moral perceptiveness and self-responsibility.

Morality has become an abstract plaything of philosophers,
rather than an individual daily challenge.
A challenge that requires us to think for ourselves, to own our decisions,
rather than conjuring excuses about following rules when it turns out ugly.

Good that you write down your thinking.
Memory can distort, but writing stays faithful.
An understanding to build upon, to evolve.
