How to read REY test in neuropsychological report?

Postby curiousv » Sun Nov 09, 2014 3:08 am

I was reading a neuropsychologist report of a friend and I found this under motivation.

I believe its a validity test developed by rey.

it said 'rey 15 item test was within normal limits while rey word recognition test score was poor.

Does that mean this friend is not reliable / credible?

He is claiming mild tbi from a car accident.

I've not heard of this test before but after researching it.. it's a test designed to weed out malingerers..

If I've got to grips with the research papers properly (hopefully I have), the test results would actually seem to indicate that he is credible/ not malingering.

The main idea behind the test is that if people score too low, they are thought to be malingering.. your friend scored within normal limits..
The word recognition test score being poor also seems to indicate that your friend does likely have a tbi issue.

^^ not by the looks of it.. the 15 item test is the one that indicates for or against malingering..

the word recognition test shows how well the person did in a word recall task..
the fact that he scored poorly indicates that his word recall is poor.. typical finding in someone with a bi/tbi..
Mine is also below average on testing and i have a tbi..
