Good one. Since n one knows what a proper chemical balance actually Is in the brain, there is no way to know what a chemical imbalance is. And another problem with SSRIs is that it may be impossible to really know about the placebo effect because people always know they are on the real drug because SSRIs almost always have side effects. That destroys the needed blind aspect of the study.

There is no low serotonin scam. At one time Elavil worked very well for me. Then it stopped working. Then nothing that I got the following decades worked until I landed on Effexor. Just because AD's don't work for you, don't think that they don't work for anyone else. If AD's don't work for you, then stay off them; either that or keep looking for one that works(if that's possible). I think that most clinically depressed patients aren't helped by AD's. So, I'm in a minority. sigh...

ADs are just as bad as anti psychotics. All mind controll facilitating bs. In fact ADs will have higher suicide rates or mass shooting sprees while on them, cough army guy in army base a few months ago was on ADs cough.

I took AD for about 5 months 4 years ago, all they did was create a feeling of carefreeness and not give a crap about real problems.

And just like anti psychotics are what create the real dopamine imbalance, anti depressants create a real serotonin imbalance.
