antipsychotcis

Postby schizor » Sun Jun 15, 2014 2:54 pm

I was forcibly detained and forced to go in a psychiatric institution because of a completely non-violent accident and diagnosed with "schizoaffective disorder".
During this time they gave me Zyprexa for 3 months.

Since then I lost all feelings and emotions. For all I mean: fear, love, hate, envy, everithing.!'ve Lost all my friends. No desire to live, I feel like an empty shell. Complete lack of creativity, lack of social skills
Lack of empathy, lack of motivation and a sense of accomplishment.
5 months ago I stopped taking zyprexa but I have no improvement and Im beginning to think that my brain is permanently damaged by these drugs.
Is there any hope that my brain will recover?

http://www.google.com/search?q=anhedonia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anhedonia

Did you get the Zyprexa withdrawals ?

I started taking the ADHD drugs again to get over this effect when I got off the Zyprexa cause I was on them before and knew they increased motivations focus and made me feel 'good'.

I also went on Ativan and Clonopin cause of the Zyprexa withdrawals and then was taking them for the comedown of the Adderal and got all addicted/depedent on them (again) and that was a hell in itself.

If I had to do it again it would be Adderal up to fight the Adhedonia the Seroquel to come down feel like eating and sleep.

Getting Adderal or any ADHD stimulant Rx could be difficult with history psychosis cause amphetamines are real good at causing psychosis but anhedonia sucks even worse than psychosis and for me it was worth risk.

I have no idea how long the anhedonia would have lasted if I just waited it out, I tried drinking and smoking week with no success to try and feel life and be motivated when I was on the Zyprexa.

I don't take Adderal anymore and after a long road getting of psych meds I feel as if I am back to normal , the state I was in before ever going to the doctor looking for a pill for insomnia and getting cuaght up in labels and the drugs that screwed me up for years.

I have a theory that the stimulants 'cure' this anhedoina by teaching the brains reward system to function again after damage from Zyprexa but long-term amphetamine addicts report anhedonia, or the inability to feel a sense of enjoyment or pleasure without the aid of some chemical stimulant, which can linger for long periods after quitting.

So maybe the amphetamine 'cures' Zyprexa damage buy doing its own damage and the healing of the amphetamine damage is the mechanism of action that starts the process ?

Maybe people should stay the hell away from psychiatry and it's pill pushing fraud so they don't risk living these nightmares.

yes I had withdrawal, I quit cold turkey and couldn't sleep for 2 months. I just want myself back. I cant understand how a pill can completely erase me as an individual. This ######6 sucks. My personality is completely gone. How much time did you need to recover after you stopped all the pills copycat?

Recovery is an ongoing process.

Zyprexa is the most diabolical $#%^ ever , the worst part, the truly diabolical part, is how so often outside observers say the person on it looks "better" and is "doing well".

That's just evil.

I took prolixin (fluphenazine) for awhile and my left hand started to shake...now it's twitchy and hurts ALL the time. I'm taking seroquel now. I hate taking pills of any kind but I'm scared to stop at this point.
