*NEW MED WARNING LABEL* Mitigation to mild obesity

*(antipsychotics)
"It is possible to mitigate the weight gain of this class of medication to mild obesity. This can be done by exercising approximately 2 hours a day (i.e. running 2-3 miles a day and other exercises), limiting caloric intake to 1000-1500 calories or less, eating minimal fat and sugar, and taking supplements. Anything less will most likely result in morbid obesity."

I heard that training at the level of a professional athlete for years AFTER quitting the medication may result in weight loss similar to that of the average person. Weight gain on antipsychotics occurs in 100% of users, usually in excess of 100 pounds. Professional athletes may have the luxury of only gaining 40-50 pounds, and still being able to compete in community sports.

I gained over 100 pounds in about four to five months on Risperdal, but I'm losing weight on Geodone. :3

Problem with exercising is that anti psychotics mess up your metabolisim so bad that you can barely do any exercise in the first place

i would DANCE before i took antipsychotics, and i gained about 30 pounds. I felt disgusting and ashamed and they wouldn't even give me a diagnosis. It was horrible. I have scars all over my legs from stretch marks from what these nut case psychiatrits did to me.

Oh yeah. I gained that hundred pounds in between four to five months, and I am COVERED in stretch marks now. Stomach, legs, chest, arms, waist. I was always a big guy, both with muscle and body fat, but mainly body fat, and I will admit, I had some stretch marks on my thighs, but nothing too severe, and now, like I said, I'm covered in them.
