*(antipsychotics)
"It is possible to mitigate the weight gain of this class of medication to mild obesity. This can be done by exercising approximately 2 hours a day (i.e. running 2-3 miles a day and other exercises), limiting caloric intake to 1000-1500 calories or less, eating minimal fat and sugar, and taking supplements. Anything less will most likely result in morbid obesity."
I heard that training at the level of a professional athlete for years AFTER quitting the medication may result in weight loss similar to that of the average person. Weight gain on antipsychotics occurs in 100% of users, usually in excess of 100 pounds. Professional athletes may have the luxury of only gaining 40-50 pounds, and still being able to compete in community sports.
