Bret Bohn, last year an athletic, healthy field guide in Alaska, was prescribed prednisone (a synthetic corticosteroid known to cause insomnia, anxiety, mania, aggression, and confusion) following minor surgery. He re-entered the hospital, where he did not sleep for 24 days and his health declined rapidly. His parents’ efforts to remove him have resulted in a custody battle; he is now a ward of the state and diagnosed with a mental disorder.

24 days, pray it was a somehow pleasant one but that thought of going 24 days in that space , its frightening. my time in that space was from med withdrawal and I would think somehow different , I called it "to tired to rest" and worse things.



Seriously , custody battles and protests , is this really necessary ? Whats the problem hospital profits ? no no let me guess his "safety" that has to be , his '"safety"'

Poor sod. To borrow from Emile Zola, I won't be happy until the last stone of the last psychiatric hospital where so-called patients are held against their will and forced into so-called treatment is dismantled.

On April 22, Bohn was being wheeled into a hospital elevator and in an effort to transfer him to a different room. As a staff member wheeled Bohn into an elevator, the staffer reported feeling a huge push from behind as the doors were shutting. The nurse flew out of the elevator and fell on the ground as elevator doors shut, documents show.

Bohn was never delivered to his intended location, and it was believed he was kidnapped by his parents, who were known to be staying at a hotel in the area.

Since Bohn was considered an “endangered missing adult,” police drove to the Collegianna Inn where Bohn’s parents were staying. They then received a credible tip that Bohn was taken to the Neighborhood Clinic in Seattle. There, police arrested Phillip’s for suspicion of kidnapping. Bohn was taken back to Harborview Medical Center for more treatment.

According to police, Phillips admitted to taking Bohn away from the hospital, and only taking him back to the Neighborhood Clinic where she intended to ham him treated for drug withdrawl.

Kidnapping ? That's what psychiatry does.

I was kidnapped myself after I was stupid enough to goto the hospital for help when I was having major anxiety and ended up behind psychiatric locked doors and was subjected to threats of a forced injection 'needle rape' when I refused to take heavy duty nueroleptics including Haldol by mouth.

It's like WTF I goto you people for help and you lock me in and then make threats of 'needle rape' when I tell you your mind altering drugs WITH NO MEDICAL VALUE WHATSOEVER make me feel like crap and I don't want them.

Bret himself tried to get away from that hospital, A notice with the court was filed regarding the “escape attempt.” The hospital and social workers alleged that Mr. Bohn was delirious and a danger to himself, and that his parents were not suitable guardians.

"A danger to himself" Ya sure , readers of this forum know that's one of psychiatry's greatest lies.

They wrote that in my chart and I WENT TO THE HOSPITAL MYSELF WILLINGLY !

Last Tuesday, his parents say Bret was scheduled for an electroshock treatment they wanted to prevent. The couple is accused of shoving a hospital aide and wheeling their son out of the building.

Almost missed that.

I would have zero problems with someone bombing every facility in America that locks people up for mental health issues they can not even prove exist.
