I only said "American" because it is a topic for discussion. In fact, the documentary I mentioned in the begging of the post is now fully on Youtube: http://youtu.be/YmvuYTH5nU0?t=12m28s I linked it here starting at a point where you have a Russian talking about how drugs were pushed on him in the Soviet Army.

I didn't know the highest rate was in Russia, only that suicides were at its peak last year in the US. Where did you get the information about Russia having the highest rate, do you have a link?

The video I saw was found in a link somewhere in this forum, I don't have the exact link, its a short video about meds, probably a video done by the same that did your video, CCHR

I don't know what makes this war so much different than others during the course of history, but something is different. Maybe they never tracked suicide rates or mental conditions that arise from war before this war, or maybe things are worse for soldiers in the middle east than any other time. I know that many soldiers came back from Vietnam completely different, but they just didn't recognize the mental problems that people were causing suffering. The reality is that more soldiers commit suicide in this war than die in combat. This has opened the eyes of people in Washington, and they are committing a serious amount of resources toward helping soldiers to adjust not only in combat, but once they return, as well.

Are you saying its the war trauma that causes the suicides? That is not true. Re read my post earlier, Russia is not even at war and their soldiers put on MEDS have a higher rate of suicide then americans.

But if you really want to get into it, the last great war WW2, were there a high percentage of Normandy vets commiting suicide when they got home? No I don't think so, because they weren't given 50 bottles of poison to treat their trauma.

Sorry, I have not posted for awhile, due to retiring and moving to another state USA etc. where it is cheaper to live and there are no liberals to screw things up, like high taxes etc. etc. etc.... That being said the comments about suicides in this forum does not really address the real reason for most of these suicides. Todays generation and the last couple of generations are raised as [mod edit] and they can't handle any real difficult experiences, so they take the easy way out.....
