I'm sorry that you've had such a negative experience. I hope that in time you will be able to regain some of your mental abilities back. I know some people that have had to re-teach themselves how to read and have been able to go on to graduate from Harvard College. Don't give up hope.

I've been off Zyprexa for about 40 days and the effects are still not gone yet. My metabolism is damaged beyond repair, lowered sex drive, flat emotions, lack of real interest in pursuing things...sucks

I agree, more time, its almost like you have to feel again to get motivation back. How do I explain the mind stuff with english words ? Alright copy paste time,

In psychology and psychiatry, anhedonia ( Greek: ἀν- an-, "without" and ἡδονή hēdonē, "pleasure") is defined as the inability to experience pleasure from activities usually found enjoyable, e.g. exercise, hobbies, music, sexual activities or social interactions. While earlier definitions of anhedonia emphasized pleasurable experience, more recent models have highlighted the need to consider different aspects of enjoyable behavior, such as motivation or desire to engage in an activity ("motivational anhedonia"), as compared to the level of enjoyment of the activity itself ("consummatory anhedonia")

Feeling good a few times I believe triggers motivation to feel good again. Maybe because the memory of what the ability to experience pleasure fades or is forgotten on Zyprexa ?

Does this make sense ?
I survived psychiatry.

If you are drinking alcohol enough to cause malabsorption then psychosis and insomnia can be caused by deficiencies in essential B vitamins e.g. B1, B3, B12. So, subject to your doctor's advice, take a B-group supplement.

From memory, Zyprexa is contra-indicated if you have or are vulnerable to dementia. So if you have a history of dementia in the family tell the doctor. Dementia can also cause psychosis.

I was really pleased when my doctor okayed me going off Zyprexa. I still have a brain fog but it is reducing.

Zyprexa completely destroyed my life too.

Been 1 1/2 year since last dosage, still emotional blunt, still Zombielike and so on.

Also antipsychotics shrinks the brain of monkeys by 8-11 %. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15756305

Rats brain shrinks by 6-8%. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21195390

And similar findings are found in human studies: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3476840/

Funny despite all the proof you show, we have no credibility any more. My own family doesn't believe a word I say and thinks this website are a bunch of exaggerating crazy people despite the proof. It really ticks me off

You nailed it. Not many people believe me either. When i describe how i am since Zyprexa people just think I'm talking bullish*t and ignore me. Its so easy for doctors ( and other people ) just to do that.

Therefore I am now instead trying to present facts and scientific evidens so people can understand that drugs like this is serious and not harmless stuff.

Even if your family doesn't believe you, me or this forum, they can not overlook the fact of Pubmed being a valid source of information. Show them the studies and let them READ them thoroughly.

These studies should come out for public awareness, and be presented in media to a lager extent, because before i take a pill in my mouth I would be happy to know about the possible SERIOUS side effects.

That's the thing they DONT WANT to read it.

Both my mother and my father are in total denial. My father even utters bs like that "im mentally ill cause I was born premature" and that my "nerves weren't formed right"

Any excuse to discredit and not believe me.

My mother just patronizes me and says yeah yeah. Im tired of this $#%^. I want to leave to another country and be alone where people wont know I have this gaslighted label.
