Can anyone help me come off antipsychotic?

I just need someone support or agreement of me coming off abilify 5mg,I take it for around 4 years already I need to stop I just need someone here to agree and give me the online support for the next year I hope to find another doctor who agree with me and not disagree with me on stopping medication

We're here for you whenever you want to post, mobc. So we can support in that way. But there's no way for anyone here to know if coming off Abilify is the right thing for you and your health. So we can't help you directly.

It's very much down to you to discuss with your doctor. If you're honest with them about your reasons for wanting to stop, I hope they can work with you to come up with something that works better for you. Which might be reducing your intake, balancing it with other meds, changing meds, or looking for entirely different treatment options. No-one here can give that kind of support though. We're mostly not doctors or psychs, and it's impossible to diagnose someone [in any way that's going to help] online.

Tell the doctor you want off it , don't "ask for permission" Cancer patients don't ask for permission to quit chemotherapy when they decide the treatment is worse than the condition.

The doctor takes your money and works for you, you are not his subordinate you are his/her boss remember that.

You have the right to decide to terminate any given treatment. Since the mental health system got you started on medications, it also has a responsibility to help you terminate that treatment as safely as possible if that is your choice.

Copy cat how long are you off all psychiatric meds?did you still had symptoms?

Its been 3-4 years since i was dependent on all those pills, i was on a whole alot of them and my problem was couldent sleep without them and they gave me an anxiety disorder. I will take a pill to sleep if i feel like going to bed early or can't sleep.

I still have more anxiety than an average person, but I just live with it. l still have symptoms of "ADD" and live with that. Bipolar ? what they called mania was bad anxiety. it doesnt get that bad now.

Are you cool with going back to the way you were before taking medication , was that better than now ?

Psych pharma needs to tell the truth and respect human rights.

You might need it if you took it that long. Why are you coming to a anti-psych forum after 4 years of going along with psych?

I took for 4 years hoping the meds would make a difference in my life,I stayed conpliance 70% of time but all I get was harmful effect and lousy mood,worst of all scare of interaction.

You might need help coming off because you took so long. Talk to a real doctor not a psych if possible. Then you should contact CCHR and let them know about the side effects by filing a report.
