It's a complicated story, but as I understand it it goes like this: career anti-antidepressant psychologist Irving Kirsch got the Big Pharma data from the FDA, put the data into a meta-analysis and _still_ found that antidepressants outperformed placebo. I'm happy to debate Kirsch's view of antidepressants if you want.
I guess I will start with I think placebo out performed the anti-depressants cause placebos don't cause side effects as far as I know, see what I'm getting at ?
Helping say 14% wile harming a larger number is a bad thing overall.
What exactly is Kirsch's view of antidepressants ? I'm guessing I got the topic title right .
I survived psychiatry.

Placebos cause lots of side-effects. It's a complicated issue.

Sorry, I thought the clip you linked to was about Irving Kirsch's views of antidepressants. I didn't watch it because 13 mins is a long time, but he's referenced 11 seconds in. (And, I believe, interviewed).

If you include the source (e.g. what paper it comes from) that would be helpful.

The thing that's been missing in the debates about anti-depressants is an overall assessment of all these negative effects relative to their potential beneficial effects,
This evidence of "more harm than good" has been out there for years but pill pushing psychiatry ignores the issue.
