Born Nov 4/86 Died June 12/12
My son, Joshua, was admitted to Cambridge Memorial Hospital emergency on June 5, 2012 after taking an overdose of his prescription medications. Joshua had been diagnosed as being bi-polar by a psychiatrist at the hospital a few years before and was under his care for medication. I would like to say that one of the drugs he was prescribed was “ Abilfy” which can cause suicidal tendencies... Upon Arriving at the mental health ward the psychiatrist prescribed Haldol even though Poison Control told them not to...
Check it out.

Psychiatry is so good at blame the victim. I know that if I died the day all those psych pills made me suicidal there would have been no justice for me. I know Abilify causes real bad akathisia and that akathisia can drive people to suicidal thoughts and acts.
I survived psychiatry.

I am grateful to have a psychiatrist who watches out for signs of akathisia. I was placed on Abilify early last month and developed mild akathisia and when I told my psychiatrist she switched me to Latuda, which has worked much better--she's giving me samples since it's so expensive.
Too bad not all psychiatrists do, yet.
Diagnoses: ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, bipolar disorder NOS
Medications:
900 mg/day lithium
3 mg/day Invega
100 mg/day Wellbutrin

Free samples ? There is nothing free about being given a drug that causes dependence and withdrawal reactions.
Found that out the hard way myself.
