-MISDIAGNOSED- ?

Many things surprised me when I worked at a mental health rehabilitation facility in northern New Jersey USA. One of the surprises was when clients that were stable and I trusted their opinions told me that over 50% of clients at this facility were -MISDIAGNOSED- by supposed mental health professionals. I then asked somebody who was a friendly mental health professional (Very Rare) how many of the clients at this facility were -Misdiagnosed-? That person laughted and said -You don't ask that type of question- if you want to work here. When that professional saw that I was serious they said at least 50% were misdiagnosed and the clients knew more about their mental illness than the supposed professionals....

so were they toying with the ones that had greater insight then the proposed diagnosis? saying they lack insight even though its the wrong bloody diagnosis?

-Razael-, these clients that I respected their opinions had great insight into their own problems and the problems of many other clients they came into contact with on a daily bases... That being said another problem that clients face is -WHO- to trust and they almost -ALL- do not trust the supposed mental health professionals... The above is another post and it is one of the reasons that I am so anti supposed mental health professionals....

the service I go to completely ignore I had PTSD stuff going on that messed with my sleeping and got sleep deprived and ###$ up with panic attacks and $#%^...it doesn;t go with the diagnosis so they just leave it out, wouldn't want too many questions to ask of anyone who reads my file
