Fighting back online against psychiatric abuse

Seems they have a little problem , people are posting about there mistreatment online.

They seem upset that people are posting "anti-psychiatry", what is anti-psychiatry anyway ?

I think anyone abused inpatient or abused with medication or any kind psychiatric abuse like the lack of informed consent to treatment should write about it online.

There are many consumer complaint sites like,
http://www.ripoffreport.com ,
http://www.scambook.com
http://www.pissedconsumer.com/

Before the age of the Internet consumers had to contend with sending complaint letters to businesses and the national Better Business Bureau. But unless the media picked up a complaint, it might usually go unheard about by other consumers.

These days however, its different.

Has anyone tried this ?

I have never tried such websites. I have in the past used rate my doctor and such sites but where one can speak out against an institution or doctor is limited. I think docs know patients are upset and taking measures to limit expression.

I know personally that many other psych forums are heavily moderated against any type of comment that questions treatment or doctors.

However I am thinking about trying this now to speak out.

Why not ? One complaint by one person may not seem to do much, but once the first one is made others see it and write there own testimonials cause they found a place they can complain they didn't have before and the stories pile up.

Then the abusive doctors/hospitals have a problem.

I think adding links and information about human rights in mental health is very important to spread the word to others who have there rights violated by psychiatry. The consumer complaint site www.ripoffreport.com seems to be the best, you can post links to information and I was reading online that it's like the new version of the better business bureau. You don't need to post your name or anything.

You can't reason with these people on this issue. It doesn't matter how much evidence you confront them with, they'll just dive deeper and deeper into their delusions. Such is the intensity of the rivalry between the two groups on this issue, a rivalry rooted in a conflict itself rooted in a process known as mimetic desire and that pretty much precludes the possibility of any side conceding an argument.

This is why human beings hold onto their delusions in the face of incontrovertible evidence and attack the messenger, as in this case dismissing a person as "anti-psychiatric", or in other cases questioning their motives, or labeling the messenger a "conspiracy theorist" or a "scientologist". This labeling gives utterance to the desire to deny the truth, a denial necessitated by the intensity of the rivalry that exists between the two individuals/groups. Two individuals and groups in conflict with each other (a conflict rooted in the fact each side mimics and feeds on the desires and sentiments of the other, leading to competition and rivalry for the object of that desire, be it power, be it wealth, be it social fame and prestige, be it a toy (in the case of a child), or be it the love of someone else) are incapable of reasoning and accepting when they are wrong because of the intensity of the emotions stirred up by the interpersonal/intergroup rivalry they are enmeshed in and because of the reciprocal exchange of passions, passions that intensify as the conflict escalates and which preclude the possibility of the party that is in the wrong accepting it is in the wrong. As a result of this, arguments tend to go nowhere, degenerating quickly into mutually destructive conflicts where all that matters is the defeat of the opponent, and nothing else, certainly not truth or justice.

Whenever there is a polarity or enmity between two individuals or groups, there is no concern for truth or justice, its all about defeating your opponent, each side feeding off the other's negative sentiments, winding each other up so much that you'd obdurately deny that the earth is round if your opponent said otherwise!

I am fighting back with compalints ....but I used them all up and not many if any can actually help or they just ignore the complaint because I am on a cto and that jjust means a dodgy psychiatrist signed me on it and is part of the complaint but nobody can do anything...

personally I am running out of ideas

take them to court and get protecction from harrassment or intervention order whatever they are called up your way.

things will get better, the UN is against torture of psychiatry just put it in your prayers thats about all that can be done we need the influencital groups to do with psychiatry to wake up like the NIMH is doing..

I like that people are upset about antipsychiatry, if psychiatry wasn't so stupid nobody would have so much ammunition against it....good I hope it surges and more and more people in and out of the trap of psychiatry speak up about it.

I thought of this as just one more way to get the word out, an easy way to make a web page complaint against an abusive doctor or hospital that shows up on web searches for them.

The word is getting out, we don't have the millions to spend on advertizing campagnes like say the pharma front group NAMI does but I notice when I surf around looking at mental health stuff people are constantly leaving anti psychiatry comments on stories and youtube videos ect. I know i always do.

I wonder how many survivors of psychiatry are out there.
