Meanwhile, kids who prefer to explore their surroundings and chatter (as thousands of years of evolution prepared them to do) instead of sitting still listening to teachers are labelled as “suffering from ADHD” and drugged.
---
Its outrageous the amount of kids being diagnosed with ADHD, for no reason at all except they are spirited, interested and may or maynot have learning difficulties.
I have personal experience as, my daughters thereapist (my daughter is with her grandparents and they take her to a therapist - she dosnt like going) tried to diagnose my daughter with ADHD, because she had learning difficulties, she underwent an interview and assessment from the university here and it indicated that she had ADHD, I strongly disagreed and was really angry at the therapist (another brainwashed psych. therapist! - not my choice of therapist) but couldn't say anything because my parents were there and it would 'cause trouble' if I did. But I silently disagreed as I know my daughters had some problems, shes been taken out of her environment into a new one, and had several other life prob's that had nothing to do with ADHD, but had caused her learning difficulties and the therapist actually said this as well.
Even reading books such as toxic psychiatry (which I read ages ago) etc. It is so horrible and sad that many kids are labeled and drugged and the amount of problems this causes them in their childhood and later on in their adult life.
I know as a survivor of psychiatry myself how hard it is, after being traumatised by lables, forced druging etc. but to a child this is devastating, especially when its society that makes theses rules, such as children have to sit and listen to a teacher and learn in one specific way insetad of being outdoors, questioning and exploring, or other alternative learning ways, this does not suit all children. And who says school suits all children anyway, its the same old same old if u don't fit into their rules then u are labeled as 'odd' or having 'mi'.
