Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy For Depression

Postby MrO » Thu Jan 03, 2013 1:17 am

I will preface this with two things, I'm a skeptic and I have mostly utter contempt for the medical industry and even more contempt for the medical device industry and yet even more contempt for the psychiatric industry. That being the case I ran across something called pulsed electromagnetic field therapy and it sounded like a bunch of hooey to me but this YouTube video out with Dr. Oz singing its praises on his show. It turns out that PEMF has been used for long time, particularly in Europe and other parts of the enlightened world to treat pain, heal tendons, and speed the healing of nonunion fractures but is also used to treat depression and it turns out that it is actually very effective. Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy is the switching on and off of electromagnets at certain intensities, dwell and frequency. There are many scholarly articles that say that PEMF is effective in treating depression and here's the kicker, it has no harmful side effects. I was still skeptical but I checked into the price of these units and the ones that you would use it to pain management office cost several thousand dollars but then I found out that the company HoMedics makes a unit that sells for around $60 so I thought to myself, "I should buy one of these and if it turns out to be a hoax then only out 60 bucks" I went to Amazon and much to my disappointment, I found that these are not sold in the US. I am now convinced more than ever that PE MF is the real deal.

I don't believe every scholarly article I read because the people who write these scholarly articles are clinical researchers who are usually MDs who are employed by the drug companies or the medical device companies to test their products and medications and more often than not these clinical researchers are on the take and have less integrity than a hooker and the morals of an alley cat.

It's pretty clear that for the most part psychiatric medications are doing far more harm to the population than any good they might do. Part of this relies in the medications sells any other part of it is their indiscriminate use by reckless and uncaring MDs.

I would recommend to anyone who is suffering with some form of depression or anxiety to give one of these things a try or to go to a clinic such as a pain clinic and get some treatment with one. There is a device called ActiPatch but I'm not sure if it can be purchased by a nonmedical professional in spite of the fact that it is harmless. The home medics device is called iHealth and you might want to check that out and perhaps you can find one on eBay.

If anyone is using one of these devices or knows where I can get one I would really appreciate any input. As we all know there are a lot of scammers out there and liars and unscrupulous merchandisers and many of them are members of we consider the traditional medical industry so you really can't trust anyone these days and that is why his patients we need to question and if a doctor is put off by our questioning then we know that we are dealing with and unscrupulous and arrogant physician who could do with a good dose of automotive paint remover on his or her BMW.

Remember folks, this is called pulsed electromagnetic field therapy. Do your own research and talk it up to friends and particularly your doctor. We need to change the medical industry because it is not served us well. You may well disagree with that statement but before you do ask yourself how many diseases has a medical industry cured since polio. Then ask yourself this, do you think it is because they can't cure any diseases?

Has a party one night and there happen to be a shrink at the party. We were discussing patient care and some of the implications of psychiatric patients being released into the community and how drugging them up makes it so they can live, if you want to call it that, in the community in a stupor. Then he said to me," let me clue you in on something, the most dangerous thing in the world is a psychiatrist with a prescription pad."

If you are anti-psych med then do whatever you can to push for safer and more effective treatments and proper regulation of the pharmaceutical industry.

Article states, " There is a device called Actipatch but I'm not sure if it can be purchased by a nonmedical professional in spite of the fact that it is harmless".

The Actipatch was FDA approved for US Over the Counter sales in February. It is available online.

https://www.madinamerica.com/2015/09/adverse-effects-perils-deep-brain-stimulation-depression/

” The circuitry used to generate the magnetic field pulses is usually based on a capacitor discharge system (shown in its simplest form in figure 4) with typical peak coil currents in the range of several kiloamps and discharge voltages of up to a few kilo volts. The relatively high voltage is required to give the required rapid rise of current into the inductance of the stimulating coil.”

This is how "Field Therapy" works https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=crushing+cans+with+capacitors

This guy tries a home made "Field Therapy" device on his own head , what a total dumbass https://youtu.be/B_olmdAQx5s

Dress it up with medical and therapy words all you want but the can crusher and the Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy For Depression device are the same thing !!

Look for my comment below the MIA article, it contains a link to my report.

One more link here it is https://www.madinamerica.com/forums/top ... ion-works/

EDIT EDIT ! Sorry I thought this thread was on "“transcranial magnetic stimulation” and it is but now I see we are talking about a low power batter operated device. I already posted my “transcranial magnetic stimulation” stuff above so check it out if you want. Maybe I should read before posting !

its still just an alternative to living right .

shrink sees someone with no job , no friends , no future .
he gives the person medication / drugs so they can exist in a drugged up reality .

this is the same thing - exist in a lousy lifestyle , but not feel bad because of this trick machine .

why not try to live the way healthy people live ?
why not try to copy the lifestyle of healthy people ?
do healthy people waste time and money on pemf therapy ?

I often say - part of living right is eating right .

the mind - gut connection by Cary Goldberg ---
could your gut microbes be affecting how you feel

makes more sense than peft .

should have a separate thread . a rare occasion where science might be on the right track .

except its up to people to get the right food .
