I was saying that we need to be willing to see and to comprehend the whole picture if we ever want to change things on the larger scale, and if possible abuse and the subsequent trauma played any role in what happened, then we have to talk about it. Again, just because someone's history can explain their behavior up to some extend, that doesn't mean it justifies it. Explanation and excuse or justification are two completely different things.
