That's blatently false. You banned a user for discussing psychosocial treatments for mental disorder (
http://www.crazyboards.org/forums/index ... id__473258), which according to Robert Barlow's "Clinical Handbook of Psychological Disorders" is an effective stand-alone or adjunct treatment for almost every mental disorder that exists. So it does not seem to be the case that you are providing a forum where people can discuss ways of overcoming mental health problems by "whatever means necessary". In fact, it's quite the opposite. You are commited to a very narrow range of treatment modalites and go to extreme lengths to silence anyone who disagrees with you, which is rude, but it's also incredibly ingnorant. As far as I can tell, you have no education in psychology, psychiatry or neuroscience so I'm wondering how you are able to recommend any treatment for people over the internet? Here on Psychforums, our moderators acknowledge that the treatment of mental disorders is best carried out and recommended by professionals with requisite training and experience and therefore do not recommend any treatment modality
ever! Of course, maybe you're all savant-like geniuses who can intuit what treatment people need by reading their posts, that's a logical possibility, but more likely is the possibility that you're not and should act accordingly.
Maybe you should adopt the Psychforums approach of suggesting that people seek help from professionals instead of impersonating those professionals? Also, having an open discourse about all areas of mental health seems like a good idea too. Forced treatment, involuntary hospitalization and medication side effects are as much a part of mental health as depression, anxiety and psychosis.

Oh, okay. You set your sights higher than helping people who don't have any interest in being functional members of society. Fair enough...

Really? I thought you said you set your sights higher than helping people who don't have any interest in being functional members of society? You must be using the term "100%" in a Pickwickian sense
I guess the fact that the single paragraph you posted has both a blatantly false premise and a contradiction casts doubt on whether or not you are one of the success stories on CB that pulled so hard on their bootstraps as to go from "being on disability to completing phds"

Nonetheless you're totally above the revelers who are still struggling to figure things out...

Take care and...
